Re: Funniest film
I'll try to avoid repeating anything, unless it deserves further mention. I'll just quickly say that out of those already mentioned, I really like Superbad, Accepted, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
So I guess I'll start by saying I love anything and everything that Kevin Smith has ever done. I can't even attempt to rank all of them, since I love them all, but I can say that with each one his style as a writer and director just gets better and better. Clerks II was probably my favourite movie of last year, and I cannot wait for Zack and Miri Make a Porno. The man is just brilliant. His Q&A DVDs, the Evening With... ones, are just as brilliant.
Just Friends was a bit of a surprise for me. It seemed like it'd just be another dumb romantic comedy...and I guess while it was that, it did have some great acting, and all the characters had great chemistry together. It also has a lot of brilliantly funny moments, both slapstick and just quick snappy dialogue. It was a real pleasant surprise.
Super Troopers is by far my favourite Broken Lizard movie, and still cracks me up to this day. I've seen it so many times I've lost count, and it's easily one of my all-time favourite comedies. Beer Fest was pretty ok, but nothing can come close to the comedic genius of Super Troopers.
National Lampoons' Van Wilder is probably the last really good NP movie to be made. Ryan Reynolds is just a comedic genius, and its a shame that his delivery style has been ripped off by that Dane Cook hack. Sure it's dumb and formulaic, but it's also really damn funny.
I'm having a bit of a brain fart (stupid finals), so that's all I can think of right now.
