The only meaning it has is the fact that the group is called Pumpkin Scissors which was made from a metaphor in the anime that could've easily been something else. It doesn't really have much true meaning to the theme of the anime at all, it's just a name of a group that could've easily been something else, although I guess the creator loved how it sounded. It isn't a problem, a lot of Japanese things do that and it's perfectly fine, but it hardly has any true meaning to it.
