advocatus, not our master. We are duty-bound to tell it just what we will accept and what we can agree with.
By definition of Republic, they have my support as long as they represent my views and reasons for electing them in the first place.

No. We need Iraq's oil to support our economic growth, not our survival. The only plus gained from untariffed oil supplies like Iraq is the chance that the coming depression won't tax the finances of our large scale businesses. The economic crash will affect the common and middle man just as hard as without Iraqi oil.
