Similar incidents happen in many places. I don't think it was forgotten, more like overlooked because the same things happen all over, unfortunately. It is a good thing to fight against discrimination, but so many similar, bad things happen that people tend to overlook the fact that good things about the fight did happened.

But I still think it was stupid to just beat the guy up, even if he was being a racist ass.
