- Calling images "renders" when they were not rendered in three dimensions by a computer
- Cookie-cutter tutorials that don't teach you anything about design except which combinations of keys and clicks to make to get a very specific result
- Heavy reliance on filters
- Way too much bloom
- Usually have no idea what histogram "clipping" means
- Terrible, terrible text
- Lack of basics: Rule of thirds, color usage, visual flow
- No sense of visual theme or cohesion whatsoever
- Guys, alpha-transparent 24-bit PNGs are an accessibility nightmare, not a status symbol. We all have that option in "Save for Web" too, we're just wise enough to pass on it.
- Sig makers turned web designers
- No idea what markup is or what makes it semantic
- I can just make one huge render based collage, slice and export it and that will work fine, right?
- Way too much bloom, somebody should file for an injunction to have your Gaussian Blur filters removed
- Still no sense of visual theme, cohesion or flow whatsoever

Quoted for truth, and for all future computer graphic design majors, I want to add that if these describe or apply to you in any way, you are in for a very rude awakening once you get into college.
