Dude... I think the whole single timeline thing was disproved ages ago... didn't you get the memo?
But technically there
is only 1 timeline - the Adult timeline is more of a 'what-if' sort of thing, although thats probably not the best way to describe it... I guess you could say that the Adult timeline doesn't really happen, because the events of the Child timeline would change it anyway. It's what
would happen in that timeline if it was left unchanged.
Well, that's how I see it, anyway. It's what I've gathered from interviews and in-game evidence and so on. The single timeline doesn't exist, but sort of... does. It's a bit mind-boggling, yes, but that's the way I think it works!
