Re: Dangerous mines (Duke and HitokiriChibi)
Kyralie blinked in surprise when she heard the polite voice talking to her, turning to look down at the young woman who had spoken.
Wincing as the still moving crowd jostled her, she heard the woman continue speaking, “I’m Jezebel and I was given this mission and I would like a little help with it. You look like you could be helpful and strong enough to handle yourself.”
Caught at the request for aid, Kyralie looked closer at the girl. Her green eyes were earnest, and she held a scroll tightly in her hands. Looking at her, Kyralie could recognise a warrior in the way she stood and held her ground, seemingly oblivious to the crowd that flowed around them, her gaze intent on Kyralie.
For a moment the Valkyrie was lost, a person she didn’t know was asking for help and she had no idea what she should do. If she was rude it could cost her a red mark… along with all the others she’d gotten from pushing through this crowd. Then it hit her. Helping this girl would no doubt clear those red marks away!
“I… well. I’m Kyralie,” she introduced herself hesitantly, “what exactly does this mission require?”
Jezebel’s eyes shifted to look at the scroll in her hands, “I haven’t opened this yet. I was hoping to find someone to help me before I read it.”
Kyralie blinked. That was bit backward to her way of thinking, but perhaps that was the way things were done here. She was still new to the world and its ways after all.
“How about we find some place out of this crowd? I can barely think with these people knocking into me…” Kyralie shifted as one of those people swerved close to her, and in her distraction with the girl before her, she didn’t realise she’d stuck a foot out and tripped the man before it was too late.
Eyes widening, she quickly grasped Jezebel’s hand and yelled a hurried, “Sorry!” to the fallen man, tugging the surprised girl along with her.
“Why did you do that?” Jezebel asked her, the red hair shading her face so Kyralie wasn’t sure how she was reacting.
The Valkyrie felt her face turn pink in embarrassment, “I… I couldn’t stop myself really. It was… a compulsion.
Shrugging nonchalantly, Jezebel held out the scroll, “Would you read it for me? I’m not quite sure I feel up to it.”
Taking it, Kyralie looked down at the odd seal before breaking it. Opening it, she looked at the elegant script and read out, “Jezebel, I need you to look into a mine for me. There is a scroll in there that we need you to get. The mine is right around where you are, just north of the city. It's a dangerous place so you might want to find help.”
Kyralie handed the scroll back, thinking on it, “I don’t know anything of this mine, and I’m not sure how well I would do in an enclosed area, but I’m still willing to help out. It sounds dangerous and they even warned you to find help.”
Jezebel nodded, placing the scroll back in her pocket, “I think I know of where they speak. There is only one mine north of here.”
Sighing, Kyralie stretched her arms out, “Well then… If you want I can quickly go over the area from above. See if there are any obstacles we’d have to face getting there,” as she spoke she unfurled her wings, the four feathered appendages framing her lithe body.
Jezebel looked at her in shock, “What manner of being are you?”
“I’m half Valkyrie,” Kyralie answered with a slight smile.
