Well...that was the last thing Kartaikian had expected. He hadn't been here five minutes, and already he was on the floor, in the middle of an attack? He quickly scooted away from the fray and knocked a table down in front of him for cover.
Using his bow and arrows he took out a few of the thugs, non-lethally. Meaning he aimed for the legs, arms, and shoulders. A couple of thugs fell, arrows through their kneecaps, while a couple others couldn't hold their swords due to arrows in their shoulders and wrists. Finally someone got the hint and came after Stormcloud.
Kartaikian kicked the table in front of him right into the thug's legs, flipping him over onto the ground. Kartaikian stood up and gave him a firm kick to the back of the head, knocking him out cold...and maybe a little dead.
Now using his sword, he took out a few more thugs; also aiming for the non-lethal areas, such as the legs and arms. He gave one thug a good kick to the gut, and when he was on his knees another to his forehead.
There was still a lot of thugs though.
