OoC: The newest Hero, Kartaikian Stormcloud, has been summoned.

The wind rushed at Kartaikian Stormcloud as he rode Stormrider over the grassy plains and small rolling hills of wherever he was. He wasn't going anywhere in particular, just away from where he'd been. He galloped through a small stream, sending icy water up into his face. Stormrider didn't slow though, he just kept on going.

Eventually they stopped, in an old, broken down village. No one lived there anymore except rats, and most of the buildings were rotten and flat on the ground. Who knew what had happened here? Not Kartaikian, and he didn't care. He sat down on a small hill, and looked up into the cloudy sky.

Suddenly he heard a small, high pitched sound. It was gone as quick as it had come, but he recognized it right away. It was a small crystal he'd been given once as a gift, commonly called a "scrying amulet" although it couldn't actually...scry. It could only send sound over distances, rather than images, and only from the present. Anyone with another scrying amulet could contact him, as long as they knew his name.

Kartaikian found the scrying amulet, a small blue crystal bound to a silver chain as a necklace. He soon heard the voice on the other end.

"Did...did that work? Kartaikian Stormcloud! Kartaikian? I guess...I guess that worked. Do you think it worked, Deadeye?"

"Just speak! We don't have all day!"

"Okay, okay...fine. Uh...anyway.... Boy this feels rather...awkward. I feel like I'm trying to be a wizard, or a witch or a sorcerer...I-"

"Speak!"

"Right, of course, of course. It's me, Krayt. You can hear me right? I don't know how to use this thing exactly...anyway, I need you to come to my location...Earth...you can track this crystal right? I hope so. The Earth is in...grave danger. Just come...quickly. Uhh...Krayt out."

"Is that it? Did it work?"

"I don't know. I guess we can hope he shows up, right? I don't remember how to stop the transmission though. Oh...right...uhh... Cease!"

The crystal stopped glowing and the voices stopped. Grave danger...and they needed Kartaikian to help stop it? If they would bother to summon him all the way from his world to theirs, then it must be important. With nothing better to do, Kartaikian took up the request.

"Come on Stormrider we have...grave danger to attend to," Kartaikian said.

He led the horse out to a clear, flat area of land. Now, Kartaikian himself had no actual magical skill, but he did happen to have a few artifacts that he used from time to time. This particular one is what would allow him to travel into the same Universe as Krayt and the rest of Earth.

It was a long, gold, chain. He spread it out on the ground in a large circle, and both he and Stormrider stood in it. At the end of the chain was a small ruby red crystal, which he removed from the chain and spoke to it, saying, "Earth, Krayt!" along with an activation word in the Ancient Language. The chain lit up bright, and a sudden flash of light burned the entire circle of grass that the chain encompassed. Kartaikian and his horse were nowhere to be seen.

Back at the tavern, the gathering of Heroes was facing someone holding two bright blades, who'd just entered the building. The Sun being outside, the man was seen in silhouette, making him hard to identify. Before anyone could say anything though, someone pushed by whoever it was, ruining the drama of the situation. "Excuse me," said whoever it was who'd just pushed in. Also seen in silhouette, the newcomer looked around and spotted Krayt and his gang. He walked up to them, revealing himself as none other than Kartaikian Stormcloud. "You summoned me?" he asked.
