“I know what you’re thinking,” WL said, sending a few warning bolts of pain coursing through Dante. “I don’t think it’s a good idea to get the fencer involved. He’d probably try to kill you anyway, so why not just head for the fields?”

The neo-echo snarled and smacked his head into a tree, temporarily shutting his alter ego up.

“I don’t give a damn,” he said. “I know you’ve got something planned, you ****ing bastard. He needs to be there if I’m too weak to kill you after you’ve gotten your body.”

“What?” the voice of WL chimed. “How the hell did you know that was why I wanted you to go there?”

“You can read my thoughts,” Dante replied, clenching his fists. “and I can read yours. Maybe not as frequently, but enough to get an idea of what you’re up to. I can’t kill myself, so the only way to kill you is to let you go through with this. That way I can kill you and be done with this **** hole we know as life.”

“You’re a stupid prick, you know that?”

“Damn straight…”

Kaja was nearing his destination by now. The tower should be nearby. Judging by the power he felt emanating from it, the fencer had to be there. It was an incredibly strong aura, though not as strong as Sin or Kenjin’s. He was definitely there…

“Cyan, can you believe it?!” Amber shouted, hugging the blue-haired succubus. The fake smile Cyan had used earlier was once again plastered on her face. The only difference was that this smile was a partially real one. She’d had a little fun doing that to the kid.

“I’m so happy for you!” Cyan said, returning Amber’s hug. “Slut,” she thought, her fake smile wavering for a moment. “God damn slut!”

Anna, the succubus who’d interrupted Cyan and TDC earlier, was positively beaming. The three of them were the only succubi who knew about Amber’s success. For the moment, anyway.

“Don’t let the others know,” the blue-haired succubus told Amber and Anna. “I don’t want them to have to stop having fun with the boy. Why punish them for Amber’s success?”

Anna and Amber both nodded, still smiling, and left to head for the transfer room. They had a lot of preparing to do, after all. Their master wouldn’t be long…
