Link has gone throughout OoT were he helped several people, without thinking of a reward. and about the 'moon is going to crash and kill you' would seriously dent the mysteriousity(is this a word?/did I spell it right?) of his character. It sounded more like he had an appointement or something like that. maybe as he is traveling he is using a phenomenon that occurs in three days?
