Re: The Siege of Topaz
“Nice work kid,” Kaze groaned, as he lifted himself to his feet, “However, those cheep parlor tricks may amuse a circus crowd, but you are dealing with a real mage, who knows real magic,” Kaze brought up his arms to a boxing position, “Allow me to try something new,” The boy didn’t seemed that amused at the speech, but he did seemed intrigued by the man’s knew spell, so he kept still, his eyes weary.
“Go on,”
“The artic wind freezes as far as any eye can see, what is this pain, this destiny, Water- Frozen touch” Kaze muttered as he threw his black gloves to the ground leaving him bare handed. The air suddenly grew cold, and Matthew could see his breath in a frozen puff of smoke. Not only that as he watched Kaze he saw the same frozen puff swirl around Kazaisu. The frozen air swirled, becoming more dense, and moved towards his hands till it was but a blue swirl surrounding his hands, as the weather returned to normal.
“Ok now what,”
“We play,” Quickly the Archmage dropped to one knee, placing his right hand on the ground. Of course matt looked on in confusion, till he felt a strange chill be his feet, when he looked he saw a most unpleasant sight a frozen trail of grass, starting from the icy hand of Kaze, all the way to his now frozen over feet. Yes his feet where sealed in a block of thick ice, securely fastened to the ground. The wide-eyed small pupil boy looked up in amazement, to see that Kaze was already upon a frozen blad dawned in his left hand.
“What,” The boy quickly brought up his blades in an “x’ shape catching the ice blade in the middle.
“Don’t look so surprised,” Pushing forward with the blade of ice that engulfed his left arm, “I play for keeps,” he grunted as the tip of the frozen weapon inched closer to the young warriors eye, “If you can’t keep up,” The blade was so close at this point, the chill of the blade was so cold that his eyes started to water, “I’ll let you leave, and spare your life,” So close that it was actually pushing against his eye lash, “Wouldn’t want to lose an eye would we,”
“Nice try,” The boy grunted, pushing the icy blade back slightly, “But not enough, Fangs of stars,” The shockwave sent Kaze flying head over heals again, but this time Kaze had scouted the attack, in mid air he launched one of his patented Ventus Viscera. The air blade ripped through the blood stained air, connecting hard into the boys chest sending him backward shattering the ice that frozen him down. Both warriors landed hard on their backs skidding in different directions.
“****,” Kaze mumbled holding his back as he stood up, “I’ve fallen down to many times today,” looking towards the boy who was at the opposite end of the grassy hill they stood on he gave a very, very creepy smile. Dropping to one knee he once again placed his right hand on the ground, but Matt saw this coming, running forward before he was robbed of that privilege. As the boy charged forward he saw the ice trail stop directly in front of him, so with some fancy footwork he dodged the ice spike that emerged from the ground. Charging forward, he had to imaginatively maneuver out of the way of four more spikes, before he was close enough for a physical attack, slashing downward with both blades, Kaze was just fast enough to block with his ice blade that he still kept intact. with both blades
“Not…good…enough,” He panted. It was then one would figure the boy came to realize something, every spell he used slowly tired him out, the stronger, or faster the spells where used or manipulated the more it drained him, those ice spikes moved faster then kaze freezing his feet, so it took more energy.
“I spy with my little eye…a weakness,” The boy taunted, pushing harder.
“I’m…just…getting started,’ he said engaging in a staring contest with the boy, one matt had to return. The tow stared as the each tried to gain the upper hand, and get their blade through the others. They did that for what seemed like hours, but in reality, was about five minutes, which is considerable time for any battle.
“Haven’t you noticed something,” Kaze said with a smile, his cold eyes piercing into his opponents, “Aren’t you getting cold?” A sly smile crossed his face, as Matthew just listened, “Aren’t they freezing,”
“They…they are,” Looking down he saw a sight that made him cringe, his hands where engulfed in ice, seemed that while the two where locking blades, he had used that time to freeze his opponents hands to his blades, and his blades to his, which was attached to his arm. Standing to his feet, matt had no choice but to follow, even as he rose Kaze rose his left arm, both of Matthew’s swords followed.
“Looks like I get a free shot,” He said smashing the younger in the gut with his free hand, as Matthew struggled desperately to free himself, “Keep trying it wont do any good,” Socking him again, Matthew could feel his knees weaken, but even if he wanted to he couldn’t fall down, “Hurts don’t it,” it wasn’t just the open full force punch to the gut that hurt, which would kill anyways if done right, it was also that with every punch it froze his stomach, then an froze as he backed off causing it to sting as well, the boy could feel himself getting nauseous after the third punch, but as the arm went back for the third, he got an idea.
“Fangs of stars!” The shock wave was s powerful it not only sent Kaze flying, but shattered his ice blade, and most of the ice around Matt’s arm, but as soon as their bond was broken Matt fell to the ground like a limp rag doll, immediately grabbing his throbbing gut, he knew it wouldn’t really make it hurt less, but it was a first reaction. Kaze landed hard on the ground…again making him see stars. Slowly both warriors got up, still raring to fight, but both significantly injured.
