It's actually quite a bit different now that I read about it, but it's not any better. The Gun Survivor games actually gave you some freedom, in that you could move around freely like a regular FPS. Umbrella Chronicles restricts that movement in the way that games like House of the Dead do. That is, you're put on a "rail" and don't really have any freedom. A monster just appears on the screen and you shoot it, and it moves ahead by itself. No adventure, just a lot of shooting.
