Re: Walking Contradictions (continued)
Her dark boots echoed as they knocked against the stones. Each footfall carrying her further away from the incubus. She couldn't, or rather, didn't care enough to know whether he was disappointed or not. Aisha wasn't bothered by his calm and graceful approach. She had had her fill for now, so she considered the person worthless. Denying his 'request' might have provoked something dangerous, but Ai was sure that she would be ready for it. After all, she had already been through a lot of situations that human eyes and minds would consider impossible, or illogical or simply 'not of this Earth'.
Aisha stopped walking. She felt it... She felt him approaching again.
She would have liked to think that it was his soft footsteps that alerted her, but no, it was something else. It was present in the air. Something had changed.
The light at her side blinked as he gracefully glided past her, his black overcoat sweeping behind him. And there the incubus stood, dangerously close to her, gazing into her eyes, looking for something. His lips curved into a smile, a lovely one. One that a loving man would give to his lady while protecting her... "Everything will be okay with me... I mean you no harm."
But the words he breathed were dark, in contrast to his smile.
"It will be better for you if you don’t force me to take drastic measures, my dear. Oh, you certainly wouldn’t want that."
Boldly, he placed his black-nailed finger and traced it gently down her cheek. Aisha's eyes widened at the suddenness of his action , then they forced themselves to narrow. Her brows lowered as she glared into his emerald green eyes which no longer made her uneasy, they just made her hate him more. A black speck of dust on the white paper which will soon be wiped away.
"I’d hate to mar something so exquisite." The incubus continued, smiling as if he had already claimed that victory over her resistance.
The soulless let out a low growl, annoyed and slightly frustrated. Lucilius stumbled backwards as two pale hands suddenly pushed against his chest. Without sparing a second, Ai stepped forward as the incubus stumbled. She forced him to continue his journey to the ground by landing a powerful kick against his stomach.
