This is a poem I wrote. It doesn't rhyme... But to me. Every word is the feeling. That is all.
I Knew
The whole time… I knew. I didn’t say anything, hoping, dreaming, but I knew.
I knew it would happen, and I didn’t say no. Is it my sacrifice, or my foolish hope?
I knew. My heart isn’t broken, but I wish it was. I hurt so deeply, and there were all right. Their laughter is here, and I can only cry. Cry silently as I wallow in my pity.
You knew, too, didn’t you? That truth we knew. What was it I felt? How can it be wrong? It would work, they say. Well, they were all wrong. Now, I sit here, crying silently.
Alone and dejected, I wonder what I should do. Will I ever love again? Should I try? I don’t know. So much pain of the world I try to take… Is it wise? Please be happy with her. Please make her happy. Please remember me. As we used to be… When we were happy. I’ll watch you from the dark, I’ll stand in the crowd. You won’t see me, but I’ll be watching. This whole time… I knew.
