Steve Irwin's so-called baby "endangering" antics...

If you didn't know, Steve Irwin brought his baby into a crocodile pen to witness a feeding. He fed the crocodile with his right hand while hlding the baby under his left arm...
I can't believe that people are having a go at him for doing what he does best... My mum thinks that what he did was just as bad, if not more stupid than micheal Jackson's baby dangling antics.
But it's completely different, Steve knows exactly what he's dping, he done the same thing with is now 5-year old daughter, Bindi. And she's alive, so what's the big deal?...
Anyway, what are your thoughts on it?

Re: Steve Irwin's so-called baby "endangering" antics...

I think its gone waaay too far, the baby was very tightly under his arm, and even if the croc did go crazy (unlikely), steve woulda just handed it over the gate to his wife who was standing right near him. When he did make out the baby was running from the croc, the croc was at least 4 metres away (so it looked on tv). I belive the baby was in no harm and everyone should just get over it.

Re: Steve Irwin's so-called baby "endangering" antics...

The footage that was given to the general public (maybe the world) was quite biased, only focusing on Steve and his baby, and not putting the emergency staff, his wife, or anyone else for that matter into the camera.

Also people that were actually there, weren't concerned, because of the safety precautions Steve placed so that his children weren't going to be harmed.

After all, he is a professional.

Wait until the kid grows up and sees the footage. I hope he grows up to be 6'7 and dangles his old man over a tank full of rabid ebola monkeys with his pockets stuffed with bananas.

edit: oops, the kid was actually a boy

I think he'd be more: "WTF!? WHY DID YOU DO THIS WHEN I WAS ONLY THAT YOUNG!?"

Also this article certainly raises some eyebrows.
Baby stunt enrages animal rights group

"Further, the baby could have been sick on the poor crocodile, which, had it ingested the vomit, could have made it very ill," he continued. "Or what if the baby's nappy had fallen off – the crocodile could have choked on it."

Say what?

Actually, It's a boy... His name is Bob.
Besides, Steve's mum and dad did exactly the same thing with him when he was a month old, and you don't see him dangling his parents over a tank full of rabid ebola monkeys with their pockets stuffed with bananas.

Or he might grow up to be like his dad, and grandad, and continue in the family bussiness, and be really proud his father did that. He would be able to say he's been around crocs since he was a baby :p

Yeahh, that was the point of bringing him in there in the first place, so he can grow up to be Bob Irwin, Cricodile Hunter. :p

Umm, wow... Sounds dangerous, but then again, that crocodile freak would probably dress himself in meat and jump into a crocodile farm. Wouldn't surprise me. In his case, this is nothing big, but maybe in someone elses case.

heh i saw the pics, at first was like "wtf is he doing?" but then came to my sences. He knows what hes doing and as a parent he would defend his child at any cost. its not like he put the boy on the cocodrile's mouth.

It's not a big deal, Steve is a pro so he knows what he's doing.

right on it all the way KC, there is nothing to worry about. the guy knows what he was doing, hes had years of experience. all he wanted was a little media attention, and a chance to teach his kid early. put two and two together, and voila. i mean, even the MOTHER didnt worry, she must have faith in Steve, why dont you all?
