Let's just talk about it...
What the hell exactly is Majora's Mask? In (almost) every other game it's like Ganon after Ganon and then we have this THING from some other PLACE and I have to wonder if it's Ganon in another form.....although personally I don't think so....i think it's evil incarnate...and since it's free from Hyrule it's anyone's guess....thoughts?

I always just thought it was some evil mask that was evil. I DON'T think it's Ganon, lol, that would be silly. I don't think he would ever go to Termina. The creepy mask dude just said it was made by some demented tribe or somethin...

well.... (0.0)#=3(%-.0) -ouch- Zelda games beaten: LoZ, AoL, LttP, LA (oh i hated that one), Oot, Oot MQ, MM, OoS, WW, FSA, TMC after these i have TP(working on), PH, LttP: 4 swords, and OoA my sig WAS here unchanged until it got erased and replaced with the staff notice that it was too long.

Either it was made or found by an ancient tribe, I don't quite remember which (considering I've not played the game in a while). I highly doubt it has anything to do with Ganon, seriously I do. It's more or less just an evil mask that wants to destroy Clocktown (maybe even the world).

Well its definatly not Ganon but i dont know what it is. I think they just decided to put in a new villain to mix things up. I kinda like having a once appearing character for once. I think it was just a good villain to go with the mask theme.

i loved the fact that it was a mask...not anything that wanted to be a king and rule but just something that wanted to....consume. I must admit whenever i'm bored (or drunk) I just put in my save file of Majora's Mask and let it play....eventually we get to the 3rd night at midnight when the best music zelda ever created begins to play....and then you can call the giants and see the best scene zelda ever created...and THEN you can choose to fight Majora's Mask without the fierce mask and make it the hardest thing you've ever tried to beat in a Zelda game...and then...well, I guess you know how I feel...

Perhaps that ancient tribe was the kingdom of the ruined castle dungeon (I forgot the name of it.) Or maybe even the kokiri tribe....a skullchild found it...and skullchildren are kokiri, so maybe some connection? Either way!

Majora's Mask was made a by Tribe, but it was feared for its awesome power. So they locked it away in shadow so no one could get it.
I thought of this for a long time, so I haven't a faintest idea of what Majora could be. Majora had Fierce Diety's Mask, but for what purpose? I'm not so sure, but Fierce Deity and Majora could have been something like foes to one another. I dunno, too early to think.

Here's a thought. The Minish are known for creating powerful things right? Four Sword and the Light force come to mind. Well, maybe over time some of the ones in Hyrule evolved into Zuna, thus the Pyramid and Trident (but I haven't played the game mentioning the Pyramid or Trident, so bear with me). And then maybe the Zuna got imprisoned into the mirror, thus the Twili.
My point is, maybe the Twili still have some Minish powers, so they created Majora's Mask. But it was too powerful, so they sent it away somewhere. Into the depths of the Twilight Realm maybe. The happy mask salesman, seeing as he can travel between Termina and Hyrule too, went to Twirule (sorry) and found the mask. A bit far-out, but it's got its moments. :|
