Lex walked right into the portal. Whether he was concious or not, or whether it happened in reallity at all no one can tell, but he had made a promise to a wretched soul to chase him through the 9 levels of hell if he was betrayed, and Lex always made good on his promises.

Lex threw caution to the wind as flames lept at him. The air was stifling, but his jacket could handle it. He pulled up his collar and his bionic eye transformed into a mask that helped him breathe, more than anything, it would keep him alert and steady in combat.

The demons here were the embodiment of all Lex's troubles, hairless, decaying imps that grabbed at him with gnarled hands. Lex closed his eyes and concentrated on the thing that would certainly defeat them. He opened his eyes to a great demon of the underworld, and the imps took heart and grabbed and held him down fast. Lex looked at the beast with unyielding eyes.

Then his boydgaurds were there. All more demon in life than human, they were juicers, people that used drugs to give them superhuman strength and agility. Lex was pure in body from these foul augmentations, but in combat he was really the same as those who used them, heartless, singleminded, and ready and alert at all times. The largest of juicers, incorpeal as any of the imps now were strode forward and passed right through Lex's physical form like a ghost. he balled his hands together in one great fist, and with one great swipe all the imps were pummeled far away. The other four came up from each side. Lex gave the great demon a half smile and the five warriors attacked him. Ever cowardly, the demon ran in the other direction, Lex then turned and never looked back, looking for any signs of his quarry.
