If you remade a Zelda game for the Wii, how would you remake it?
This is not like the other Zelda remakes thread, in this thread, we think how and why would you remake another game. If I remade a game it would probably be OoT, with Wii graphics and gameplay. I would add several things that would make the legend of the Hero of Time bigger and the gameplay experience greater:
*Make it harder *I would make the Master Sword glow, as it's the symbol of it's awakened power as seen in TWW and TP. *I would add more dungeons, this dungeons would be optional and can be entered as soon as you have the items required to reach the entrance. *I would make new areas, some of them from another games. *I would make the enemies more fighting capable, like in TWW and TP. Many bosses and enemies would be revamped. For example, after Ganondorf's volleyball fight and before Ganon's fight, you would fight him in a sword battle. Now you post wich game would you remake, how and why. |

I would make OoT in TP graphics and a few small things.
Make it a bit tougher and just really do some small things with it.

Make Majora's Mask with TP graphics! Imagine the scene where the moon crashes down on Clocktown. Oh and the moon would look more creepy! Plus Fierce Diety link would look much better and same goes with Majora's Mask forms.

Re: If you remade a Zelda game for the Wii, how would you remake it?
Apart from my earlier post I don't want them to remake any of them. I want them to keep making new ones unless they split up the zelda team and one team flings out a remake every year to keep us occupied for the next great hit. But as I chose earlier, if i saw a remake I would want it to be Link's Awakening. Then Majora's Mask... Not Oot TP is a lot like OoT, so they don't really need a remake...

Re: If you remade a Zelda game for the Wii, how would you remake it?
Alright, here's my idea:
Remake Ocarina of Time. That's the part that everybody seems to want. Here's the part that not many people seem to think about: Not giving it Twilight Princess graphics, but it will be made for Wii. My remake would, first of all, have a brighter, more animated color style. You all are familiar with the official artwork for Ocarina of Time, yes? Well, The visual style of this remake would basically be a perfect 3-D version of the official art. Face it, in the N64 game, Link's rendering looked hardly like the portrayal of him in the official art. I want this time, for the game to look like its art. I've seen some videogames that look exactly like the cartoons or art its based on. So yes the visual style of the game would be a 3-D version of the original OoT's art. Story? Well its Ocarina of Time. We know what it is already. However, I'd like the remake to take a lot of plot and story influence from the official manga that was only released in Japan (but skillfully scanned and translated by certain fans). Influence from the manga, as well as the addition of today's better writers, can mean much better dialogue and a well written version of the story. Control is where it could take a hint from Twilight Princess. It would play roughly the same, only I envision Link swinging his word in the direction you gesture the Wii Remote, not the direction you're holding the control stick while gesturing. First person view would be put back on D-pad-UP, and the C button on the Nunchuk would be the switch for camera. Tap the C button, and you can adjust the camera around Link freely like in Wind Waker, only with the cursor. Move the cursor to the edges of the screen and the camera will adjust in that direction. Talking to Navi would be on the - button, with all of the menu subscreens accessible by pressing the + button, and using Z and C to switch left and right between each subscreen. Toggling the map on and off will be on the 1 button, and the 2 button... I can't think of a use for it. OoT's Hyrule will be improved. It will be basically a bigger version of the original OoT Hyrule, but still extremely different from Twilight Princess' overworld. Dungeons will be just new versions of the originals, but a Master Quest mode will be unlocked after beating the game, which gives updated versions of the OoT Master Quest dungeons, but mirrored to disorient you further (Link would not be mirrored, he'll still be good ol' lefty Link). Enemies will be smarter, more life, and higher damage. Bosses will still be essentially the same, but with a few new tricks. Bosses in Master Quest mode would have entirely new ways of attacking you, making you form new strategies. Bosses will also deal more damage as well as have more life, like the regular enemies get. Music would be fully orchestrated. Nintendo may have some of the highest quality MIDI formatted music around, but you can only go so far with the archaic, synthetic MIDI music format. Nintendo needs to get real music, from a real, full orchestra. Voice acting? I think I'll have to say yes. However, it would be handled similarly to Fable, where everyone else can speak, but the Hero never does. Link will remain the perma-mute, but everyone else can have voice acting. The full voice talent would only show up in cinematics and cutscenes, accompanied by the usual text so you can read what they're speaking too. During gameplay, though, there will only be the text, with the standard voiced soundbytes accompanying it. The voice actors would have to be top notch, and really add a feel of emotion to the game. Just in case they end up sucking though, there will be an option to turn the voice acting off, and just read the text traditionally. Rupees will be harder to find. They were all too common in the original game, it was never difficult to acquire a full wallet. So rupees should be harder to find. Also, the final reward from the cursed Skulltula family will only be awarded once, rather than indifinitely like in the original version. Maybe add in an extra reward because 200 rupees was a really sucky "final reward." I'd also like improved character design. I'd like to be able to tell the difference between males and females of the Gorons and Zoras, for example. Though honestly I think a Goron woman would be a frightening site, but if I can handle talking to Falbi in Twilight Princess (Fyer's brother, the guy at the chicken flying station) without gouging my eyes out with toothpicks, then I think I can handle it. One more part. Ganon needs to actually be harder tha Ganondorf. Seriously, why was the final boss easier than the previous boss? It's the final boss, he needs to be harder. One would think that the Triforce of Power could, y'know, bestow the holder with power maybe? And that's it. If I were in charge of re-making Ocarina of Time, that's what I'd change or add. |

I would do the same thing, and have it so that certain motions with the remote would do certain moves depending on which form of Link you were. I would make Termina a bit bigger, and also do something to make the game longer, like maybe another dungeon, or even more masks and sidequests. It would also be cool to have more ways to manipulate the flow of time, so that it could be used as a constant gameplay device and not just a time limit. One way I would do this is to have certain puzzles centered around time travel. Maybe you could slow down time to reveal a fast enemies weak spot, or dodge a trap. |

Re: If you remade a Zelda game for the Wii, how would you remake it?
Black Omnimon, i totally agree with alot of what you suggest, particularly the idea of increased difficulty and a Ganondorf swordfight - how cool would that be?! In addition I would like to see a fight with the pig Ganon as in A Link to the Past. In fact, as a lover of the game I would love to see alot of old-school features return, something that would make me remember that classic. That is just my biased opinion though coz it is my beloved childhood-defining game or experience for that matter! some might say i'm sad, but it's worth it. Also, i was just thinking this today while playing Twilight Princess (which i feel is the best yet, or at least since ALttP), why not do away with the frantic music that warns you when enemies approach? There was none of this in the old days and it would surely add to the challenge, particulalry in a 3-D game!

Re: If you remade a Zelda game for the Wii, how would you remake it?
The Wii's controls for TP were kinda last minute. I'd love to see what they can do with a made-for-Wii Zelda.
Also, I'd like some items that really make use of the controller. I made up an item. A chain with a glaive (type of blade) on the end. you can swing it around in any way that you want. Like a lasso, up and down, like the grappling hook (when locked on). it wouldn't go into first person. just complete freedom. you could even latch on to small enemies and swing them around. Basicly i want more freedom with the Wii controller. !~Hurricane
