Name: Kevin
Age: 728 years old, still making him a strapping young man, looking about a mere 22-25 years of age.
Race: Part angel, and part vampire. He's more vampire than angel. He's very contradictory toward himself in this sense too.
Sex: Male
Hair: Curly bone-white hair. It's long for being a male, and he lets it droop down as it pleases.
Eyes: Almond shaped, and the color of plums.
Weight: 160 pounds
Height: 6 feet 3 inches
Weapon: Due to being part vampire, he a lot of brute strength. Though, he uses a crossbow pistol strapped to his back with a long leather belt, over pretty much any fist fight he'll get into. It's nothing too fancy, but it serves its purpose.
Armor: Since, he's a vampire, he doesn't really feel that armor is needed, despite his fear of most everything. However, he does wear leather gauntlets on his hands.
Strengths: He is NOT afraid of one thing, and that is birds, especially flightless ones, such as the penguin and the ostrich. He considers this a talent, considering everything else scares him so much.
A major strength of his would be the obvious trait of being part vampire. It gives him a much longer life span than any normal person and his senses are enhanced as well. He's strong, physically and mentally. Even though he usually acts like a scaredy cat, he still has a sensible mind on his shoulders.
He also has the abilities of an angel, which allows him to fly and heal. Though, it isn't very powerful, he does have that to his discretion.
He has exemplary aim, for he's wielded his pistol for many decades and has trained himself to use it properly.
Due to being a vampire, he's often feared, giving him an advantage. Also, due to being a chicken, he's often underestimated, giving him a window of opportunity to the unsuspecting opponents who let their guard down.
Weakness: His one major flaw is the fact that he's afraid of virtually everything. From the smallest creatures to the most gargantuan beasts, he'll be afraid of it. He goes so far as to be afraid of himself. And, it's not just a minor fear. He's been known to pass out and scream very loudly at most things.
Because he is a vampire, he makes many unneeded enemies. He's not really a mean guy, he just can't stand to be around things for an unnatural and uncontrollable fear of them. Since he's a vampire, and since he's scared, it's also hard for him to make any kind of allies or friends.
He also has a weakness for blood. He's a vampire in most senses, and this is no exception. He does have large canines, made for sucking the blood of his victims, but the thing is, he's hemophobic. That means, he's also afraid to eat. Because of this, he rarely eats and is rarely at the top of his game. It weakens his body, but he's so afraid of blood, he's almost grown used to it. Still, he's nearly starved to death several times.
He also has the usual vampire traits, though, not at the same caliber, due to the angel that balances it a bit out. He can stand light, but only to a certain degree.
Kevin lacks the ability to use any weapon other than his crossbow pistol. Whenever he is without it, he resorts to fighting with fists, and, usually, he's very fearful to even touch whatever he is fighting. So, without his weapon, Kevin is, basically, a flailing pansy.
When he is not judged as a vampire, he's judged as an angel, but Kevin only has a few angelic traits. He finds that he disappoints people in this sense, and he's also fearful of that.
He can fly, but he's afraid of heights, so he keeps that at minimal use, if he can.
Skills/Magic: Well, being both angel and vampire, he has mixed abilities, so much so, he's often doubted. They shall be separated by angel and vampire.
Angelic:
The ability to fly is a major one of his angel abilities. Though, most people rarely see them, Kevin does indeed have wings. They're a rich burgundy color, instead of the usual and holy white, obviously from his vampiric side. With them, he can soar through the sky.
Another ability would be the ability to heal. With a simple thought, he can heal himself. Though, because he's more vampire than angel, it's not a very powerful healing. Sometimes, depending on the magnitude of the injury, it only heals the surface. It's never a fool proof thing. Oddly, it's more accurate when not being used on himself.
Vampiric:
He has the ability to turn into a bat, but it's only for a short period of time.
Kevin does have regenerative abilities, but they work very slowly. Often times, he has to choose because his angelic way to heal, or his vampiric way to heal. He doesn't really have a favorite of the two.
Appearance:
Normally:
Kevin is what one might refer to as “tall, dark, and handsome”. He has two auras about him, a dark one and a light one, still, he's seen as “dark”. He has a lanky build. He's a bit on the skinny side, but otherwise, he still has muscles.
He has thick, curly white hair, about shoulder length. It drapes down as it wishes and the curls are thick and springy. When he zones out, he plays with them.
He has almond shaped eyes, a deep purple color. They have a very docile feel to them, as though kindness emanates from them. He has a thin face, and a very prominent jaw line. Kevin has abnormally white teeth, that are also abnormally straight. He has a long nose, but by no means is it off putting. It gives him a very fancy look.
His neck is thin, nothing too muscular. He has broad, yet thin shoulders, leading down to very proportional arms. His hands are very large, but thin as well.
His body, in general, has a very fragile feel about it. Being tall and lanky overall doesn't help. His not eating only emphasizes this weak look.
He has long legs, somewhat improving his speed. And, due to his height, he also has long feet.
As far as his clothing goes, he wears a very long cloak, reaching down to his feet. It's a crimson color. On top of the cloak, he has two belts that strap across his chest, both black with silver buckles. One of which holds his crossbow gun. The other is just there to balance it out. Underneath the cloak, he wears a tight, sleeveless, black shirt, made of a soft, yet sturdy material. He has a silver belt tied around his waist, holding up a pair of tight black denim jeans.
While his clothes imply a somewhat bad boy persona, he's far from it...
While as a bat:
When he turns himself into a bat, he looks exactly as a bat does, except, instead of black, he has a red tone to him.
When he's using his wings:
He has two wings that burst out from under his cloak. They're large and crimson colored, despite them coming from his being an angel. They aren't the usual white because of his vampiric side.
Personality: First and foremost, Kevin is a fearful person. He's afraid of pretty much everything, with a few exceptions. Those exceptions being birds, preferably flightless birds, for he is afraid of heights, ironically.
His fear ostracizes him from everyone else. From people of his own races, and people he newly meets.
Yet, he's feared and hated by so many people that it saddens him. Especially since he's actually a really nice person, once you get past the fact he probably has an irrational fear of you. To those people that have actually gotten to know him, they realize that he's truly a sweetheart, and one of the kindest people you could ever meet.
He dislikes fighting for fear of hurting his opponent, but still does for fear of getting hurt by his opponent. Sometimes his fear does control him, yet, that doesn't change the fact he's a very intelligent person. He always tries to think with his heart and not with his fear.
Kevin doesn't consider himself to be brave, but he does feel that he could easily stop being so willing to face his fears. But, he won't allow himself to. One of his goals is to stop being so fearful, yet, with everything and everyone he meets, he feels as though this is unattainable.
When in the thick of battle, he'll talk, but usually it comes out stuttering, always afraid of the response he will get. Afraid of it being good... afraid of it being bad. No matter who it is, he's tentative of what will happen.
As he meets every new person, he sees two things: A chance to train himself for the better and just another person to fear. These mixed emotions always make him feel uncomfortable around them.
He's not really attached to anything at all, but he's still nice to everything in an attempt to convince himself that they aren't scary.
He rarely drinks blood, making him grow weak. He always makes futile attempts to hide this fact, but never really pulls it off.
Biography: Kevin has lived many years, far too many for most anyone to sit through. So, to brief most of it...
When Kevin was a child, he grew irrationally fearful of everything over the course of a few years. He never knew how this came to be exactly, but he believes it came from his mother, who separated from his father around that time.
He wasn't very close to his mother, who was an angel. She would rarely come to see him, let alone talk to him. Always claiming to be “preoccupied” with “higher orders”, Kevin merely shrugged everything she said off, for the most part... until the last straw...
~ ~ ~
“M... mother?” came a weak voice, from a young male child.
A groan sounded and a scolding tone replied, “What NOW? Can't you see that mommy is busy!”
The boy shuffled his feet nervously, staring at a closed door which he spoke to, “Erm... well, no, you won't let me enter...”
“Bah, trivialities, go run off and play your little games, you'll probably end up here anyway,” the mother snickered, “though, with what you do, you'll go down there.”
His voice squeaked, “Down where?”
“
Hell,” came the disdain, thick in her tone. “Where all those sinful people go... where your nightmares will come to life. Pleasant, no?”
“Erm...” he said, back, tears being to well in his eyes.
She snorted, “Not good enough for you?”
He began to wail, not understanding how an angel of heaven could treat him this way. He wailed, “Why?!”
“Vampires are sinful creatures, I have no idea how your father ever got me to fall in love with him and betray my heritage as a messenger of God, but none the less, you're just a reminder of that manipulative...
bastard.”
“DON'T TALK ABOUT HIM LIKE THAT!” he screamed, taking all he could from his mother. He began into a sprint, getting away from the building of his mother's “work”, getting away from the mother who convinced him of his own weakness.

He was very, very close to his father, who was, at the time, the only thing he wasn't afraid of.
His father was nurturing, and kind, always protecting Kevin from anything that might scare him. Kevin loved him dearly, and when he passed away, became extremely afraid of a single thing... death.
~ ~ ~
A cough could be heard, echoing in the young boy's mind. “No, no more, daddy.”
“I... I'm sorry about what your mother said. It's not true. I swear I would never do such a thing...” replied his father, who had suffered a stab in the heart from a raged vampire hater. He'd been rushed to safety before he could die there, on the street.
He shock his head, vigorously, “I know, I know... just, focus on getting better, please. I don't want any more of this.”
“I... I don't... t... think, I can do that,” he paused, catching what little breath he had, “My time... is limited.”
“No, don't say that... but, mommy...”
The man grimaced, “You won't need to stay with her... stay here. P... please. I don't want your happiness sacrificed by my death...”
With a tear streaming down his cheek, the young child began to bawl, “How can you be so selfless... when you're about to pass away?”
“Kevin... this is a kind of courage that you get with time...”
“Courage? What courage do I have... I can't even stand to see you like this, because I'm so afraid of pain,” Kevin sobbed out, “I want to be so much more like you...”
A trembling hand reached out, and the dying man consoled his child in the last selfless act of his life, “You will... with time. You have all the time in the world, son... just, try... you don't need to be afraid of everything... get that courage, I know you possess it...”
“But-” he stopped, noticing his father's eyes had shut, indefinitely.

He had a problem with himself, which is what truly started his journey. He wanted to change how he saw the world. Kevin decided that perhaps a weapon would help, in some way shape and form. And that it would somehow bring him strength...

“So, what'll it be?” asked an impatient shop keeper.
A man replied, nervously, “I don't know, I'm still looking, sorry.”
“Eh, just hurry up, I don't have all day,” he replied, gruffly, “Do you even have anything in mind?”
“Something... lightweight? Perhaps, long range?” he asked, motioning toward the bows, and guns, scared stiff at their very sight.
The weapons shop owner nodded, “I see, I see... I think I know what you might be interested in.”
He walked out from behind a beaten counter and in front of the dark man, asking for him to follow him. The shop keeper led him into another room, stopping in front of a wall.
“Here we are...” with a press of a button, the wall parted, revealing several other weapons. “Any of these suit your fancy?”
The man's eyes grew wide, fearful of these menacing contraptions, “Erm... t... they look sharp... what are they?”
“That's the point... and, they're crossbows,” he said, proudly, “this is probably the only shop within miles that still carries them.”
“They're rather... big...”
“Psh, well, we have one more... though, I thought it would be a bit out of your criteria,” he pressed another button, opening another shelf. “It's a mix between a gun and a crossbow. It's smaller, more travel worthy if that's what you intend to use it for.”
Instantly, the man knew that it was exactly what he needed, “That's it!”
“Alright, good,” he got a few forms out of his coat pocket, “Who'll this be made to?”
“My name is Kevin...”
The shop keep scribbled, “What's the purpose?”
“Self protection and self improvement.”

Kevin met a person, a friend who would help him. He was afraid of said person, but he still considered this person to be a friend unlike any other. This man took away a fear of his. This person was a fellow vampire by the name of Emmanuel.
~ ~ ~
Legs swung back and forth as a man looked over the gorge into the nothingness beyond.
“E... excuse me, sir, don't you think you should back away from the ledge? You might fall...” said Kevin, scared for this man's safety.
“I'm a vampire, kid. If I fall, I just turn into a bat and fly away,” he said, waving a hand, nonchalantly. “If you want to assault me now, go ahead, do your worst.”
His eyes widened, “Oh, no. I would never assault a vampire. I'm partially vampire... and, honestly, I'd be too afraid of you to do so.”
The other man turned around, “A vampire? Afraid of a vampire? I think I've heard everything.”
“I'm... sure you have,” Kevin said, politely, just wanting to please the man and get away before any more fear would be stricken into his heart.
“Hey, hey, no need to leave, yet,” the vampire stood up walking toward the, now departing, Kevin, “I'm far too bored and you've peaked my interest. My name's Emmanuel.”
Kevin's first thought was the fear that this man would follow him, but he decided to just be kind and stay, “Um... hello, Emmanuel. I'm Kevin.”
“Heh... pretty standard name you got there,” Emmanuel said, chuckling. “No problem with that... so, Kevin, what else are you afraid of?”
He unsure about how to answer this, but tried his best, “Er... everything.”
The vampire stood there, expecting for Kevin to say something along the lines of 'Fooled you!' or 'Hah! You fell for it!', but no such response came. His jaw dropped, “... Seriously?”
“Ye... yes.”
“... Even birds!?” He inquired, almost hysterically, now.
His eyes grew frantic, “Especially birds! I mean... how they fly around and stuff...”
“Are you afraid of the flightless ones?” he said, dumbfounded, no matter what the answer was to be.
“Yeah...”
The vampire groaned, “Okay, that's it! I'm going to take you under my proverbial wing and teach you not to be afraid!”
“What!?” Kevin exclaimed as he was taken by the wrist and dragged off by this stranger. He began to scream, being afraid of strangers, and being dragged off.
And with the events of that day, he would be relieved of one fear... however much insignificant. The birds would no longer be a fear of his.
~ ~ ~
He left to see the world. To see the people and things he was scared of most. To help himself.
~ ~ ~
“So, you're leaving?” came the vampire's voice, the question lingering in the air for a few seconds in the large and cluttered house that once belonged to Kevin's father.
His head hung low, nodding, “I've come to the conclusion that I have to. You know, to face my fears.”
“You mean everything?” Emmanuel's reply came, half jokingly.
Kevin's hands trembled as he reached for his crossbow pistol, attaching it to his back with belts. “Erm... y... yeah.”
His friend walked over to him, slapping him on the back, making Kevin flinch. “You know, I support your decision. It would be great for you to return and finally not be afraid of me!”
Emmanuel chuckled, and the half vampire joined along, nervously. He forced himself to smile and said, “Yeah... I... I would like that very much.”
“Good, good... now, get out of here. We all know that you have bigger and better things waiting for you outside of this town,” he replied, grinning widely. “Somehow, I know you'll succeed.”
“T... thanks. You have no idea how much that means to me...” Kevin gave his friend one last smile, waving. With that final motion toward Emmanuel, the man walked out the door of his house, leaving all that was there behind, except those fears that dwell within his mind at every moment of every day...

And that is his life, summarized up to this point. A life that has molded a man, making him unlike any other vampire, or angel for that matter.
