Wii - Forecast Channel

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but it's available now for Wii via update.



Looks pretty neat, just another gadget to tell me my weather.

I am excited to get this update! Sadly, it does hit the States until December 20, 2006, so I will have to spend my one day wait replaying Wind Waker.

Wow that's awesome, I knew living in a PAL region pays off sometimes.
The 'Glode' is a really awesome feature, currently -17c in the South Pole... and -6c in the North Pole?

Just like Google Earth, but more basic weather edition.

That's nice... I can't wait for my Wii. I'll get the Weather Channel when I get my Wii! Neat-o!

I can't wait for the Wii forecast to hit US, it'll be really useful.

Very cool, I didn't know it was hitting the states tomorrow, so thanks for that as well. I'm in NY and it's still hot out! It's like 60 every day! I can't believe it's going to be like 55 degrees on Christmas. In any case, thanks for the update, info and pic.

If you didn't notice, we're going right into summer over here...(Christchurch as in New Zealand Christchurch, not England Christchurch) Which is about time. Mainly because this winter has been full of snow, thunder, rain, showers and hail. Bring on summer =D

The News Channel allows users to access news headlines and current events obtained from the Internet. The news is automatically updated and viewable via WiiConnect24. The News Channel will be available in North America and Europe on January 27, 2007, with content provided by Associated Press.

Looks like we've got a bit of a wait.
Hopefully there will be more interesting Wii channels coming in the near-future.

Thanks for the quick reply, I just checked that site myself haha. Yeah, it does seem like quite the wait, but I'm sure that with the virtual consoles, and things it'll keep us busy. I do hope that they make more channels though, and fast! haha

Oh well. I'll be sure to update as soon as I can.

I just updated it, and it's pretty sweet. It was interesting to see the different weather conditions around the world. However, I was a little disappointed that the closest area they are forecasting for me is an hour away. Neverless, it's a pretty cool little feature.

Nope, it's out today in the states today (19th). If you're on WiiConnect24, you should have gotten an e-mail from Nintendo. But if not, just click on the channel, do a quick update, and you should be on.

You don't really need broadband, dial-up is still internet access. My Wii is fairy slow at accessing the internet... Or the Wii Shop for that matter. I'd like to see how fast it goes once we get the browser.

Well I got f***ed. When I updated my Wii for the forecast channel. My Wii was no longer able to read any discs/games, but ended up sustaining all it's other functionalities.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Try calling Nintendo up, they have a toll free number, look through the manuals that Wii came with and it should have the number. You might have a bit of a wait though, last time I called Nintendo up I couldn't get to talk to anyone because their lines were full.
