Well, they claimed that the PS1 lasted ten years, though, apparently, they were refering to how long they produced it, including the two years the PS2 came around. (PS1 was 1993 to 2001, right?) They've said something similar about the PS2, I think- that it can last ten years, which means it still has five years to go. Similar reasoning can be used with the PS3- yeah, the PS4 will be coming out to compete with the next Microsoft/Nintendo offerings (unless Sony believes they can replicate Nintendo's current "last-gen" trick), but that won't stop the PS3 from continuing production alongside it.
Granted, this is based on information I may have misheard, but I think that there is no way Sony will not launch another system in five or six years. Not sure about that 2010 estimate, though...
