Some of my art and stuff

Yo o7 drawing has always been my number one interest, I guess, and I'm glad I got into Helsinki upper secondary of visual arts, I hope I can become artist of some sort and earn my living by doing what I like. I'm quite passionate about comics and I'd love to publish finished comic one day. Anyway...

There really good, only problem:
I think you have over done Wolf Link's hair, on the bottom one, other then that it's all great!

I like your stuff, I will come back later on when you submit more. I love the second one though, very detailed, great contrast...very well done.

Ayee....I decided to post some 'older' Zelda pics, thought they're all done 2006, few of them in January. Last chibi Link I doodled just some time ago, I haven't used watercolors in ages. Ruto/Link I did as collab with my friend, I lined it and she colored and uh, I edited with photoshop.

Yeah, you definetley have your own stylem which is of course a good thing.

Even your windwaker style drawings, even though they've been done to death o-o, have their own unique feel.

I actually really like your last picture of Link you've posted, the clouds are especially purdy.

I've been practising some cging lately too...I'm glad I took photoshop course some time ago, it gave me some really useful tips

Well, about the first pic, it's my original character Asachi, she's already 3 years old chara. Of course she's gone trough some improvements and changes. Originally she had curly hair and ears were positioned vertically, but I think it was 2004 when she got to look like that.

Oh and the other girl is my online pal, Annika. People who commented on this actually said she looks like that so I didn't completely fail I used random sex pistols image for her shirt, though edited so much I don't think anyone will know from where I took the pic.'

Thanks Vega wind waker style inspires me a lot, but I'm glad I'm not completely copying it.

Next Saturday I'm gonna take my upper secondary high diploma of visual arts to the 'judges' who will give it points from 1-5. My theme was nature conservation, here's a shot of finished work:

Of course, it's still missing a folder that consists of sketches and the timeline explanations and thoughts that are part of the final scores, but I think I'll manage to finish it until Saturday.

Ha ha, I think it's safe to say your photoshop course helped a great deal - your work is fantastic!

Those two girls you've posted - wonderful. You've done a great job on their clothes, the design is stunning. Really nice use of colour for that first background, it's pretty understated and doesn't take too much away from the subject. The only thing I can see that's off would be her arms, 'cos they do look a little crooked. But I'm really just nit-picking there ;] .

Ugh, that picture you linked to is so beautiful, easily one of my favourite pieces of work I've seen on these boards for a while.

Each of the panels are like some horrid nightmare, and the twisted design really does carry a sense of dread. I love that middle panel, with the creatures floating in the sea. My guess is that they're symbolic of our lands, clusters of rock swimming around in our own pollution, with the bare trees (and tombstones?) on their backs.

Really looking forward to whatever you post next XD.

Meh, sketches time!
First one is pin-up Wii girl for fun, hope you dig it. Her legs crosses weirdly though
I wanted to add provocative text, but I'll leave it later on if I care to color this one. And fix the anatomy problem. Otherwise it's no fun >:
I'm gonna get my Wii December 8th. Exact month from my registering to ZU, funkayy.

Second one is a sketch of my original characters I intend to use in a short comic. Guy is called Ilves, and that's also the name of the story. His design might change still though, it's rather flexible. I'll propably concentrate on that more after I've finished with the storyline.

Girl's called Krista or Milka for now...can't say much about her. Though she seems sulky there, she's actually more positive person.

I've been trying to locate other DeviantArtists on ZU, I guess I just found another one. My work isn't even near as good as yours but if you're interested my DA link is in my sig.

Edit: Humm... Nayruchan... why does that user name sound REALLY familar? I must have seen it on DA somewhere before.

My very recent work~ I'm still not waaay good with photoshop, but I try it eventually to get better with it. I'm pretty proud I for once completely made the lineart with ink and that so called g-pen thingy. Usually I just use some thin liners.

Thank you so much! I haven't yet got clue what're the judges saying, yet, but I was really happy to hear many positive comments from my friends and some people I didn't even know, asked me if I could sell one of those pictures

Ahahaaw ^^; well, there's also a chance you've bumbed into the other Nayru-chan at dA, my nick is not very unique. I just can't let go of "Nayru" since so many people in Finland know me by that name or a variation of it. But oh well, I have couple of popular fanarts of Inuyasha and SSB, so you may have seen link somewhere (sadly, I'm not very proud of those particular fanarts, since they're pretty old.)

This stuff lacks real creativity. Try to copy something else than your Saturday morning cartoons.

The subject matter is the only thing that needs to be changed in a lot of the drawings in this post. Theres definetly a good amount of concentration and effort, there's just so much more you can do than cliche internet forum art (anime) and there is definetly potential that should be taken advantage of.

I don't really feel like replying to you due to your feelings of superiority because you think anime/cartoons/comics are not art. Whatever. You're certainly one of these people who think that art must contain message and have somesort of ultimate meaning, but I don't care, to me it's just pretending and boring. My "potential" and such aren't going to waste with the way I do my things. Thank you very kindly for your commenting.

Pikana, your art is absolutely beautiful. You sure have talent, that's for sure. I really like your style btw, it's amazing. Every picture you've posted is perfect to me, even though I'm sure there'd probaly be small faults in em', I don't care I reckon they're totally amazing.

I respect your opinion and all, but I'm sure alot of people would dissagree with you on this one. I do. While I do think there would be some that'd agree with you, I don't see what's wrong about her style. Her art is amazing, there's nothing wrong with manga/anime style art, infact it's great, and Pikana sure has the hang of it. Just my opinion though.

From my point of view, as well as a few other people's, Pikana has taken advantage of her potential. The way she draws, sketches...colours, it's just simply amazing, and not everybody can do that.

Anyhoo, Pikana, I am truly in awe of your work. o__o I was looking through your DeviantArt and it is simply ah-mazing! You have such a unique and original style, and, of course, you have loads of skill to go with it. :]

Each picture is unique and has it's own attitude and personality, which, in my opinion, is hard to portray.

I completely loved all your deviations and how they weren't all with the same styles, but how you used different ones.

I can't wait to see more, you are an incredible artist! :3
