Ever use Trillian?

Trillian is multi-service IM client that runs MSN, ICQ, AIM, Yahoo!, and IRS. You can download it for free here. I use it regulary because it's organized. You can manage your connections indivudally, as well as your contacts. It's very efficient and not a pain to manage.

Re: Ever use Trillian?

I know someone who used it before, but it didn't look very good to me so I stuck with my own kind of IM

I use it, it seems clean and efficient, and it is easier to manage than half a dozen other clients simultaneously.

Re: Ever use Trillian?

Best. Instant. Messenger. Program. Period.

Trillian is defiantly a great program. The only downside is that Cerulean Studios (the company that makes Trillian) only comes out with a new version of once a year or so. I'd prefer if they came out with newer versions of Trillian of frequently then they do now.

Besides that, there aren't really any other downsides to using Trillian over other multiprotocol instant messaging applications.

Re: Ever use Trillian?

The only thing I liked about Trillian was that it incorporated all the IM programs into one file. However PalTalk does that, plus its got free chatrooms.

But is PalTalk free to download?
And if so, give me a link. I want to compare it to Trillian.

http://www.paltalk.com/en/start_chatting.shtml

is the site for PalTalk. It is free and if you want to pay money you can upgrade for more features. But I use the free version.

Re: Ever use Trillian?

I started using Trillian, but after a while i found it was a torjan, maybe i downloaded a bad version or something, but i had to delete it and after that never used it again. Also found that not that many people use other chat programs besides msn, so i gathered just use msn.

No, it wasn't Trillian. Trillian isn't in any sort of way a Trojan horse.

A heckuva lot of people use AIM. Some use Yahoo!. It all depends where you live -- different communities often use different messengers (it has something to do with the middle schools and high schools, I believe).

Trillian has millions of emoticons, but why would you use them if the one you're chatting with doesn't have Trillian?
They are pretty cool, but, as you said, if someone doesn't use Trillian, the symbols will show up as nonsense. Though some of them are nonsense to begin with, such as the car and the XBox. I mean, c'mon, who says, "I feel XBox-y today?"
