Name: Arin (Pronounced Are-in) Bryant
Age: 20
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Hair: Black
Eyes: Blue
Weight: 125lbs (pounds)
Height: 6 foot 3 inches
Weapon: Crystal Staff of Llyeta (pronounced leet-ya). Special ability: Shape shifting into objects like a walking stick or a sword, for example.
Armor: Infinity Robes.
Strengths: Despite his youth, Arin is an accomplished mage who can change the molecular components of anything around him, even air itself. In addition, Arin is able to wield a sword, but not to the same skill as his magical abilities. Arin also has a strong will and determination, once he starts something; nothing will stop him from finishing it. Arin can also create a magic force field at will.
Weakness: Being a mage, Arin is vulnerable to close range melee attacks. Although he can create a force field, it is not able to withstand a bombardment of attacks, or very powerful attacks. Furthermore, Arin's spells can take a while to cast and require concentration.
Skills/Magic:
~~Magic~~
Wind Arrow (Wind element)
A mighty gust of wind is created; causing the target to be seriously damaged if hit directly, or stunned for up to 20 seconds if it misses by less than 10 feet.
Eruption (Fire Element)
Magma is pushed up from below the Earth's crust and is expelled under the target, in a small eruption of lava that can severely burn the target.
Meteor Storm (No element)
Red-hot meteors rain down from the sky hitting a very large area, and can do an incredible amount of damage. However, there is a chance the target will not be hit.
Ice Barrage (Ice element)
From the moisture of the atmosphere, Tiny razor sharp ice crystals are formed. The ice is then propelled at the target at an incredible speed. The ice can cut through steel, and is very dangerous.
~~Sword~~
Shockwave Blade (no element)
As the sword swings it creates massive air pressure. When the swing stops, the air is propelled forward. The shockwave created can blow away lighter targets, and knock over heavier targets.
Light Cannon (Light element)
The sword absorbs a massive amount of light, then blasts out while retaining the shape of the blade of the sword. After contact with the target, one of two things can happen. One: The light explodes on contact, dealing a massive amount of damage. Two: The light embeds itself in the target's heart, then light engulfs the target, followed by a tornado of light that does even more damage than the pervious effect. However, Light Cannon only works on Evil people or demons, therefore, unless facing a strong dark elemented creature or someone of pure evil, Light Cannon is ineffective.
Personality: In battle, he is serious and can kill any monster without any problem or second thought. However, when he is not fighting, he is kind and helpful, as well as a bit of a practical joker who sometimes takes a joke a little too far. He does not have many friends and prefers to be alone and away form people. He is also quick to get angry, which is also why he avoids people.
Appearance: Arin wears multicolored robes called "Infinity Robes". The infinity robes keep the person wearing them at a comfortable temperature. For example, in a cold climate the robes are heated. The robes are stripped, and with every stripe is a different color. The stripes are also different sizes. The robes also come with matching boots, gloves that follow the same pattern of coloration, as well as a full brimmed hat (the brim goes all around the hat), also with matching colors.
Arin is somewhat skinny for his age. He has a scar on the back of his left hand that extends form the base of the thumb to the wrist as the result of a sword training accident. His black hair always looks as though he has just been through a violent windstorm, so he usually keeps his hat on. His eyes are as blue as a sapphire that give a kind of warm feeling to his normally unfriendly looking face.
History:
Arin Bryant grew up in the small village of Chestnut Hallow. It is a small village situated in Sinamin (pronounced sign-ah-min) Valley, which is near the East Coast of the country of Mistalin. Chestnut Hallow is renowned around the world for being the home of some of the world’s elite mages. Therefore, it was no surprise when Arin began to show signs that he was a mage.
It was a sunny Monday morning. Arin was about to start his first day of school. Like all kids about to go to school for the first time, Arin was nervous, very nervous. As he ate his breakfast that morning, it felt as though it would be his last meal before he died of anxiety. He was shivering as he ate his breakfast, as though he was sitting on an ice cube.
“Calm down Arin. It is only the first day of school,” Said Arin’s mother in reassuring tone. Arin’s mother, Jane Bryant, was one of the most beautiful women in all of Chestnut Hallow. Her flowing golden hair always attracted attention every time they went to the local market, or anywhere else for that matter.
“I know mommy, but I am just so scared,” replied Arin in a shaky voice.
“There is nothing to be afraid of. Besides, Mrs. Bellbottom is going to be your teacher. She will make sure nothing happens to you,” Said Jane.
After hearing that Mrs. Bellbottom would be his teacher, Arin relaxed a little. He and Mrs. Bellbottom had been friends forever. Everyday in the summer he would go to her house to visit. Mrs. Bellbottom was a widow, her husband died in the Great War, and she had been lonely ever since.
“Oh my, look at the time. You better get going to school. I will walk you there if you want,” Jane said. Therefore, after getting his things ready, Arin and his mother walked to school. The schoolhouse was only down the road, but Arid felt nervous because the big kids would had out along that road. With his mother at his side, however, he felt he could do anything.
The rest of the day passed without incident. Mrs. Bellbottom introduced herself as their teacher, and began lessons immediately. When the time came to go home, Arin’s Fear caught up with him. He would have to walk home alone. He was determined to get home, so nothing would stop him. As he walked along the tree lined road; he came across the three big kids.
“Hey what do you think you’re doing shrimp?” Said the biggest of them. He was obviously the leader. He had a big, bulging belly, and looked kind of like a pig wearing clothes.
“I am walking home,” Said Arin in a most innocent tone.
“Well, this is our turf, so buzz off unless you want to get hurt!” The big kid shouted
“But I need to get home, and this is the only way I can!” Arin replied, this time in a more confidant tone.
“Well tough luck squirt, if you need to go home, then wait for us to go. We should be gone in an hour or two,” the big kid said with an evil chuckle. Arin then decided to call for his mom, his house was in earshot after all. “Oh, calling for mommy are you? Look guys, the baby is calling for his mommy,” the big kid said to his friends who then began to laugh loudly. This sentence made Arin angry, he began to hate the big kid and wanted to hurt him. “Look, the baby’s getting angry. Are you going to hit me you big baby, or are you going to call for your mommy again?” the big kid sneered.
That did it. Arin then when to punch the big kid, but he avoided it, knocking Arin to the ground. “You’ll pay for that. When I am done with you, you will regret the day you where born!” The big kid spat in his fury.
Upon hearing this, Arin’s mother ran from the house to see a big kid towering over Arin ready to attack him. However, before she could say anything, the kid had already swung the punch. Arin thought this was the end, and closed his eyes, ready for the inevitable punch. Yet it did not come. When he opened his eyes, Arin saw the big kids looking at him in shock. Arin wondered why, that is until he say the big kid’s hand. It was scarred and was on a weird angle, it looked broken. The big kid was now wailing and crying a storm. Many people in the village cam to see what all the commotion was all about. Arin’s mother then grabbed him and took him inside.
That night, the mayor of the village came to the Bryant’s Door. He was an old, yet tall man, who wore glasses. With him where two others, a male and a female in golden cloaks. Arin’s mother invited them in and offered them a place at the dinner table. They then began to talk about what happened earlier that day. They talked about how the kid’s had became scarred and broken. Apparently, when the kid’s hand got close to Arin; it burst into flames. In the end, the two people in the golden cloaks determined Arin to be a mage.
Arin trained with the two until he turned ten years old. He was then sent to Madorian City. The capital of Mistalin, to learn advanced magic. He learned many things at the academy, including a bit of swordplay. Then, after ten grueling years of training, Arin graduated the top of his class. He then returned to his home of Chestnut Valley. After staying in his hometown for a few months, Arin then decided to explore the world, so that he could learn every type of magic the world had to offer, and to become the most powerful mage in the world.
Soon after he left his hometown, he entered the elven forest. His wandering would lead him to the elven city Llyeta, where the citizens where struck with a plague of some sorts. After finding a cure and saving the elves, they decided to give him a great honor. He was allowed to visit the crystal pool and put his hand in it to receive a gift from the elven goddess. What he got was a beautiful blue crystal staff, which he decided to name “The Crystal Staff of Llyeta”.
