LinkLink is the central character of Twilight Princess. He is a simple farm boy at the beginning of the game, but by the end of the game, he is the new hero of Hyrule. Link grew up in Ordon Village, but one day, everything went wrong and he was set on an adventure to save Hyrule. This time around he is able to transform into a wolf with the help of an imp named Midna. Princess Zelda You meet Princess Zelda early in the game. She identifies herself and the cause of the Twilight that has encompassed Hyrule. It was her surrender to the Usurper King, Zant, that caused him to take over the Kingdom of Hyrule. Like Link, she is blessed with the power of Gods, which allows her keep her form while in the Twilight. Midna Midna is the little imp that rescues Wolf Link from the Castle Dungeons early in the game. She rides Link while he is a Wolf and helps him use his Wolf abilities. Her nature is unknown throughout most of the game. It is found out later in the game that her true intentions were changed over the course of the game, due to the selflessness natures of both Link and Zelda. Zant Zant is the Usurper King of the Twilight, who took over the Twilight Realm with powers never seen before in that realm. He is the main villian of the game, who is out to stop Link and Midna from saving Hyrule. It is his Shadow Crystal that allows Link later in the game to change from human to wolf at ease. Ganondorf The Gerudo King of Evil makes a return in Twilight Princess, once again set on making the Power of the Gods his own. He was banished to the Twilight Realm by the Ancient Sages when he maliciously murders one of them. While in the Twilight Realm, it seems he took over Zant and used his power to take over Hyrule before Link saved it. Telma Telma is the owner of the bar within Hyrule Castle Town. She is also the leader of a small group of adventurers who are set to save Hyrule as much as Link wants to. She is also the one who cared for Ilia after she was kidnapped from Ordon Village. Rusl Rusl is the father of Colin, one of the youth's of Ordon and is also a friend of Link's. Initially, he was set to take a trip to Hyrule, to bring an offering to the Castle, but passed the buck to Link in the beginning of the game. Later in the game, he becomes part of the story, when he helps Link enter the Sacred Grove for a second time with a Golden Cucco, eventually ending up in the Temple of Time. Auru Auru is one of the adventurers who Telma speaks of. He is very interested in the Desert Province of Hyrule and is helpful in getting Link to that province. He once saved Fyer, the cannon operator, who owes him a favor. The favor turns into Link gaining a free ride on the cannon aimed towards the Desert Province. Ashei Ashei is one of the adventurers who Telma speaks of. She is very interested in the Peak Province of Hyrule and the Yeti's that live there. She helps Link by drawing him a sketch of the Yeti from Snowpeak holding a red fish. The Zora's recognize the fish as one that Prince Ralis was able to catch on many occasions. Shad Shad is one of the adventurers who Telma speaks of. He is very interested in the Sky Beings that he believed were the precursor of all Hylians. His knowledge, which was passed on from his father, leads Link to stautes all around Hyrule eventually giving Link access to the Sky Cannon and the City in the Sky. Ilia Ilia is one of the childhood friends of Link from Ordon Village. She loves animals and ends up taking care of Link's horse, Epona, more than Link does. She is kidnapped early in the game by the boar riding beasts and is eventually taken to Hyrule Castle Town (via Impaz of the Hidden Village). When she is kidnapped, she loses her memory, which Link helps recover with items he collects before entering the City in the Sky. She gives Link the Horse Call, which allows Link to call his horse without having to find certain grass. Fyer Fyer is the cannon operator at the base of Lake Hylia. He helps Link on two separate occasions. He first gives access to the Desert Province and later helps Link restore the Sky Cannon, giving his access to the City in the Sky. Malo Pint-sized brother of Talo, whose serious demeanor and head for economics belie his youth. He first sets up shop in an abandoned Kakariko storefront – donate enough to his cause and he’ll take over the high-priced, snobbish shop in Castle Town where you can purchase the Magical Armor at a much reduced rate. Talo Always looking for an opportunity to prove just how brave he is, his foolish grandstanding sets events in motion that lead Link to the Forest Temple. When the children are displaced to Kakariko, Talo takes up vigil on the highest peak. Beth Part of the Ordon Village children crew, Beth harbors a crush on Link and disdains childish antics. She thinks Colin is a pale shadow of the hero he wants to be until he saves her from being kidnapped by King Bulbin in Kakariko. Colin Timid Ordon boy who dreams one day of being brave. He makes a simple fishing pole for his hero Link and suffers the constant taunts of Talo and Malo. In a moment of courage, he pushes Beth out of King Bulbin’s path and is taken in her stead, tied to the goblin’s pole as bait for Link in a desperate chase across Hyrule field and a dramatic showdown on the bridge. Fado Operator of Ordon Ranch; Link’s employer. Spends his days tending to, and occasionally losing, the goats. Mayor Bo Ilia’s father; leader of Ordon Village. When Link is faced with climbing the well-defended pass up Death Mountain, Renado sends him Mayor Bo to learn the finer points of sumo. Agitha Little girl who lives in the eastern thoroughfare of Castle Town; she can sometimes be found in the flower patch just outside the southern gate. Agitha is having a ball, and it is your duty to round up her diminutive guests – 12 pairs of golden bugs. Collect them for her and get rupees and wallets in return. Jovani Sold his soul for gold – now he’s made of it. Cursed Jovani sits in solitude and despair in a secret treasure room accessible from the rafters of Telma’s bar and the little south western grotto where cats gather. He tasks Link will collecting Poe Souls scattered throughout the game to restore his soul. A bottle filled with Great Fairy Tears is your reward. Doctor Borville Crotchety old doctor residing near the western gate in Castle Town. Early in the adventure, the doctor attempts to help the wounded Zora prince to no avail; later, he is an important part of the trading sequence to help restore Ilia’s memory. Madam Fanadi Soothsayer, neighbour to Agitha in Castle Town with a flair for theatrics. For a small fee she will tell your fortune – love shows the location of heart pieces, and career points where your quest will lead you next. Purlo Proprietor of the STAR game in Castle Town. Win to upgrade your quiver. Three groupies hang outside his tent and fall to giggly pieces over heroic Link. Barnes Cowardly keeper of the Bomb Shop in Kakariko. Once Darbus is freed from his curse, the path to Death Mountain opens and Barnes is again able to produce bombs for purchase. Three types become available – bombs, water bombs and bomblings. He also offers a buy-back policy if you only have one bomb bag. Renado Shaman leader of Kakariko who takes the Ordon Village children into his care. He is vital in helping the Zora prince and returning Ilia’s memory. Athough he is good natured about it, Telma’s advances clearly make him uncomfortable. Darbus Patriarch of the Goron Tribe, possessed by Twilit Igniter Fyrus and contained by his people deep in the Goron Mines. Only by collecting the key shards from Goron Elders Amoto, Ebizo and Liggs in the mines can you hope to save him. Gor Coron Temporary leader of Goron Tribe who challenges Link to a sumo match, to judge his worthiness to enter the sacred Goron Mines. Ooccoo Disturbing, cuckoo-like creature lost in Hyrule with her son. Always happy to lend a hero a hand by way of a quick escape from TP’s lengthy dungeons, she will tag along until you are able to return her to her home in the Castle in the Sky. Impaz Elderly resident of the Hidden Village, last in the line of an ancient tribe sworn to serve the Hylian royal family. Yeto and Yeta Residents of the derelict Snowpeak Manor, very much in love. Not much for housekeeping. Your trip through Snowpeak Ruins becomes a quest for Yeto’s soup ingredients until Yeta finally succumbs to the power of the Mirror Shard and becomes Twilit Ice Mass Blizzetta. After freeing the yetis from their curse, Yeto and Yeta engage Link in a sled race for a piece of heart. Hena Expert angler at Lake Hylia. Hena’s Fishing Hole is a beautiful little oasis where the fish are plentiful and the scenery enchanting – the perfect place for the quest-weary traveler to unwind. Just don’t bang around too much in her shop. Prince Ralis Injured Zora prince found in Castle Town and escorted to Kakariko by Link, Telma and Ilia. Queen Rutela Mother of Ralis. She appears as a specter to plead with Link to save her son’s life; then she rewards him by showing him to the secret location of the Zora Armor. Postman Steadfast deliveryman for Hyrule Post, often found quivering with exhaustion in a corner of Telma’s bar. No need to seek him out – when you’ve got mail, Postman finds you. Falbi Clown proprietor of Flight-by-Fowl at the top of Lake Hylia, this brother to Fyer will send you winging to a island of stacked treasure chests for a modest fee. King Bulbin Goblin lord and frequent foe. Link encounters King Bulbin multiple times throughout his quest, finally overcoming him at Hyrule Castle where the brute surprises Midna by showing a little humanity. |
