Vote for your favorite Zelda supporting character!

Zelda is full of supporting characters: from the simple Old Man in Legend of Zelda to Medli in The Wind Waker. They aren't the stars of the show but they fulfill an important roll in the game: to help Link and guide him on his quest. Here you will be able to pick your favorite supporting characters.

We have purposely left out larger characters like Navi and The King of Red Lions and villains for future polls. We will be doing them five characters every two days so keep checking up. So, here is your first five supporting characters:

Impa
Image

Games: Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link Ocarina of Time, Oracle of Season

Description: Impa is a simple character: the always helpful protector of Zelda. She realizes that she can’t protect Zelda alone so she calls on Link to help. She’s a very similar character in LoZ, AoL, OoS, and OoA but she’s almost a completely different character in OoT although she fills the same roll as Zelda’s protector.

Old Man

Games: Legend of Zelda

Description: The old man is a very mysterious character. He doesn't have a name and he seems to be almost everywhere Link finds a cave. He is the one that gives Link his first weapon, the Wooden Sword. Link's quest would not be possible without his helpful information.

Old Woman

Games: Legend of Zelda

Description: The Old Woman is also a very mysterious character. She, like the Old Man, lurk in the caves of Hyrule. She supplies Link with crucial potions to heal his wounds on his journey.

Error
Image

Games: Adventure of Link

Description: Always everyone's favorite, Error has been a legend in the Zelda fanbase since he first spoke his line "I AM ERROR." Error does not play a major role in Adventure of Link but he does play a rather humorous one. There is a chance Error's real name was Errol because in Japanese "R" and "L" are allophones. Perhaps the programmers just made a mistake. He is also one of AoL's only named NPCs.

Link's Uncle

Games: A Link to the Past

Description: Link's Uncle actually plays a similar roll as the Old Man in LoZ as he is the person to give Link his first Sword in this game. Link, after he gets the message from Zelda, runs off in the rain to save her and finds his battered Uncle in the sewers. His Uncle tells him to save Zelda and hands him the Sword and Shield.
