You will come across many friends and foes in his quest to save the Oracle of Ages. Some of them are a little stranger than others, while some are just plain cool. Here's a list of who you can expect to meet during your travels.
Link
As a hero in Hyrule, the Triforce sends Link to undergo a quest in the land of Labrynnia, a neighboring kingdom of Hyrule. His journey starts when the evil witch, Veran, takes control Nayru, the Oracle of Ages, throwing time into absolute confusion. Link must gather the eight Essences of Time hidden in dark, gloomy dungeons throughout the land, before he can face the evil Veran and free the Oracle of Ages. Nayru
There is far more to this beautiful singer than her enchanting voice. She is, in fact, the Oracle of Ages of Labrynna, who has the power to control the passing of time. When she is possessed by the evil Veran, her powers are used to disrupt the flow of time and cause unimaginable evil. It is up to Link to save her and Labrynnia...past, present, and future!
Veran
The Sorceress of Shadows is up to evil things, and plans to take of the entire land of Labrynna and cover it with darkness. By using the powers of the Oracle of Ages, Veran is dangerously close to fulfilling her evil plans. Only one can stop her, and that one is a hero of the Hylian bloodline.
Princess Zelda
With the help of her magical powers, Zelda is able to see that trouble is brewing in the land of Labrynnia. To confront this, she sends Impa to bring the Oracle of Ages back to the safety of Hyrule. Even though Impa fails in her task, Zelda still stands as a beacon of hope for all those in the land of Labrynnia.
Impa
Impa is the trusted nursemaid of Princess Zelda. Impa, sent by Zelda to bring Nayru back to Hyrule for protection, meets Link when she finds she cannot move a large rock with the Mark of the Hero upon it: Link moves this with ease. After Veran is captured, she puts all her trust in Link to save Labrynnia.
The Maku Tree / Maku Sprout
The Guardian Tree of Labrynna. To rid her of her pains, Link is forced to go back in time to when she was but a young sprout, and save her from the monsters Veran had sent. This Tree seems to have a bit of a crush on Link. and will give him much advice during his quest.
Ralph
He is Nayru's guardian and childhood friend. While he cares deeply for the Oracle of Ages, his hot-headed nature often leads him into trouble, and he does not get very far in saving Nayru from the Sorceress of Shadows. Eventually he will learn to accept Link's help.
Queen Ambi
Queen and ruler of Labrynna in the distant past. She has started work on Ambi's Tower in hope of that her lost love, who once sailed out to sea and never returned, will see the tower and come back to her. Lately the good-hearted Queen has changed her nature and turned into quite a slave driver, and as a sign of this the people have even started to call her tower the Black Tower.
Ricky
Ricky is something as rare as a talking, boxing kangaroo. Once you befriend him, you will be able to hop in his pouch and ride around with him. Not only can he jump over holes and onto high ledges, but he has also got an extremely strong punch, which can be chared up to release a deadly Hurricane Punch.
Moosh
If you thought a boxing kangaroo was wierd, there is no telling what you will think about Moosh, a blue polar bear with wings. Once you make friends with Moosh, you can hop on his back and fly for a short period of time. Moosh is also hardly harmless: his attack involves smashing into the ground and crushing any enemies below him!
Dimitri
The third and last animal Link can choose to befriend is Dimitri the Dodongo. While sitting on Dimitri's back, Link will be able to cross large bodies of water and even swim up waterfalls. Of course, this young Dodongo is fit for battle, as he can eat his enemies with one swift chomp of his jaws. In addition, Link can also pick up and carry Dimitri once he has acquired the Power Bracelet.
Farore
As the Oracle of Secrets, Farore keeps track of Link's progress on his quest in her Book of Secrets. She is also the connection between the two worlds of Holodrum and Labrynna, and the two Oracles of those lands, the Oracle of Seasons, Din, and the Oracle of Ages, Nayru.
Maple
Being an apprentice witch of her grandmother, Syrup, Maple quite often finds herself sneaking out to ride her broomstick. Her skills on the broomstick are questionable, however, as she often bumps into Link, knocking away his Hearts and Rupees. Luckily, Maple will also drop some of her own stuff, such as Potions and perhaps even Magic Rings. If you manage to grab her stuff before she does, then they will be yours to keep.
Syrup the Witch
A legendary witch who has taken her grandchild, Maple, as an apprentice. However, not only does she brew potions: she also sells them, for quite a high price. The inventory of her shop varies from magic healing potions to Gasha Seeds, all which can be useful to Link on his quest...if he can afford them, that is.
Bipin & Blossom
A happily married couple who has just had their first son. As they have yet to find a suitable name for their child, they will give Link the privilage of naming him for them! The couple has two homes, one in Holodrum and another one in Labrynna, so you are sure to stumble upon them wherever you go. If you help them raise their son along the way, Bipin, who just so happens to be a famed planter of Gasha Seeds, will give you much advice on how to successfully garden Gasha Seeds.
Pippin
This famed Gasha Seed gardener is an ancestor to Bipin, and the proof that Gasha gardening skills are something that run in the family. He will give you some advice on how to successfully garden your Gasha Seeds, but he won't be happy if you practise outside his house.
Vasu the Jeweller
When it comes to jewellery this guy has the monopoly, in two different lands! His specialities are Magic Rings; for a fitting fee he will appraise them and reveal their powers to you, and at the same time keep track of all the rings you have collected. His two pet snakes are also mystical creatures, and they may be capable of more than simply the ability to speak the language of men.
The Great Moblin
Although there is a striking resemblance to the legendary King of Evil, this is not Ganon, but just a mere moblin. Well, not quite a mere moblin: he is The Great Moblin, and he lives in his forts in both Holodrum and Labrynnia, tormenting anybody who comes nearby. However, as they say, those who cause trouble for others will get trouble in return...
Gorons
The care-free Goron race inhabit the mountains of Rolling Ridge. Their leader is the Goron Elder, and the race's speciality are Bomb Flowers. Unfortunately, something has gone wrong in the past, and they need someone to help them take care of their crops of Bomb Flowers. The entire future of the Gorons' way of life is at stake.
Tokays
No matter what the first impression you get of these wierd lizard-like creatures, you can be assured that they are in fact a peaceful people willing to aid you on your quest...though they do have a history of being rather thievious. The Tokays live on Crescent Moon Island.
Zoras
Just like they are supposed to be, the Zoras are an underwater race, and they actually have quite the kingdom below the surface. The ruler of the Zora race is King Zora, and Link will need to see him before he can gain audience with Lord Jabu Jabu, the big fish that the Zoras worship above all.
Skull Pirates
These ghostly pirates sail on the seas of both Labrynna and Holodrum. Once you meet them you will notice that they are very helpful, and willing to help you progress on your quest.
The Hand
The Hand is a mystical creature, or perhaps just a really dirty person, which it can be assumed resides in the sewers of Labrynna. They are in need of some paper, and will reward you if you get it. However if you decide to treat it to something else, it will most likely give you a response as well.
Mamanu Yan
This lovely lady is a lover of dogs, to say the least. However, lately her dog has gone missing, and she is in need of someone to help her recover her favourite pet. Any ideas who that someone might be?
Tokkey
Tokkey is a very gifted musician, and right now he is working on creating his very own tune that will allow someone to travel through time. He is in need of some help, though, as he is unable to find the right tune that will give his own melody the powers of time-travelling.
Happy Mask Salesman
This guy sure seems to know his way around the different lands in the world of Zelda. Never the less, this time around he is completely starved, and he is aching for something juicy and delicious to sink his teeth in.
Patch
He is the "Mr.Fix-It" of Labrynna, and it is said that he is able to fix any broken object in the entire world. However, he is also a little, well let's just say "odd," and he will require you to take part in ceremony of sorts before he will fix your items.
Cheval
An inventor of high regard in the distant past of Labrynna. Cheval has come up with many great inventions, but his dream is to invent a water-proof rope before he goes to the graveyard, for good.
Rafton
Young Rafton here specializes in building rafts, and will help you out with setting sail on the seas! First he will need some of your assistance however, as he is in need of some water-proof rope that will keep the raft together when you are out sailing.
Mayor Plen
Mayor of Lynna City, Plen will give you some information about the history of the city, and he will also help you out with something about the passwords you will need once you have completed your quest and saved his city.
Comedians
Although these guys would love to make people laugh, and cheer up those who are sad, their material is very old and dry, and it seems their skills on the stage have withered. If they are given a little help however, it won't be long before they are back on track!
Dekadin
All this sad young lad wants is a good laugh, but so far nobody has been able to cheer him up. Will Link be able to?
Tingle
The man who wants to be a fairy (and who everyone seems to love to hate) still has his cartography skills intact, and if you manage to reach him and pop his balloons, he will most likely come in handy and help you out.
Dr. Troy
A famous animal doctor who, naturally, has a vast pool of knowledge when it comes to creatures. Throughout your quest he will give you advice on how to slay various monsters, and he will also let you in on the rumours about the three different pets you can befriend.
Postman
The Postman is always in a hurry to get his mail delievered on time. Unfortunately, he has no way of telling the time, and if he did it would make his job a lot easier. |
