A while back I stated that ZU had a new layout in the works. This was slightly delayed as certain people who were working on it weren’t up to the task. Reluctantly I decided to find a pro to make ZU’s next look. I searched for weeks and weeks, and found somebody – and he’s really amazing. I don’t want to say his name, since I’d like to surprise you all with what he produces, but it really is incredible. You’ll wonder why we let ZU look like it does now once this man has finished his work.

But his services don’t come cheap. Rather, they’re quite taxing – and the money that ZU earns alone just doesn’t cut it. I’d love to hire this man to make the most amazing thing you’ll ever see, but I don’t have the money to do it.

That’s where you guys come in. ZU has the greatest community on the face of the Earth, and I can say that because I’ve basically lived in that community for four years. It’s the reason why many people stick around ZU. The forums are the most visited part of the site. They are and always will be free, but ZU is now eloquently asking that community to give back a small sum, in return for something so awesome that it’ll be awesomely worth it.

I’d planned to release the new layout sometime around April, but unless I can scrounge up the money, well, that might not happen. We’ve got a LOT more than just a layout in store for this ZU rerun. We’re doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work that we’re not going to spoil for you right now, but you’ll like what’s coming. And it should come around April, if everybody gives a dollar or so.

Heck, if everybody who visits ZU gave a dollar, then we would have enough to remake ZU many times over.

I’m not on my knees, because Scott told me I should be as eloquent as possible with this. So I’m on one knee, asking the ZU community to marry me – but pay for a fraction of the wedding ring. Because trust me, it’s the most incredible diamond you’ll ever see.

Our goal is to raise $2000. Believe it or not, that's not the whole cost - far from it. So, you can see why we would turn to you guys! We only accept donations through Paypal, so please - if you don't have a Paypal account (or if your parents don't), they're free and quite possibly the most useful way to pay for things on the internet.

UPDATE: Seems like a little pep rally is going on over at the forums. Why not join in on the fun? I'll be keeping an updated list of money-goals as we near closer and closer to that holy grail... and there's bunches of fun all around, it seems. Woo!
