ImageThese four college kids are attempting something you might have thought impossible: Finish four 3D Zelda games in 48 hours.

Beginning on Friday, four college students broke out their N64 and began working on a humongous task: Finish Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess, all in the short time span of forty-eight hours. They began on Friday, and thus are already on their second day - and smack in the middle of Majora's Mask.

You can watch their progress via one of the student's blogs. They even have a live video feed of them playing the game, so their progress is, in fact, live by the minute. Plus, they've got a few pictures of shoes thrown in the mix.

You can go here to view their blog once your mind has wrapped around the concept of four games in forty-eight hours. Wish them the best of luck on their second day!

Cool, however, the video lags and the chatboxes are full of spam. Plus, how are they gonna reach the deadline when they're only halfway MM?

tp itself is 20hrs, oot was beaten as fast as 6 hours by some ppl, if they took about a day to do that, they screwed

That's pretty cool. Fun thing to do with 2 days and nothing to do (ok, ABSOLUTELY nothing to do). Wind Waker takes about 10, Twilight Princess about 14, Majora's Mask 7-10, Ocarina of Time 8-11. Yeah, it's do-able. Good luck to them.

I did the math and they have about 12 hours to do each game and if 1 takes 1 day, you have like 6 hours to do each other one!!!
(sorry I talk so much!!)

First thing I thought of is "yeah, they're each gonna do one at the same time, right?"

It sucks that they didn't reach their goal but it was nice to see the gaming community come together like that. Hopefuly they get to do something like that again.

That's a great question, Vawn. I think they died out. :(
Well, onto the main topic, I hope they can get together and give it another whirl. I'd be overjoyed to assist, too, but I'm relatively slow except on TP and WW.
Oh, and when can we expect a new Poll? Just curious, not trying to put pressure on ya or anything.

Have a greatly heroic day!

they need to do it on the N64 and GC and Wii, they might have been able to do it if they had played OoT and MM if it hadnt kept freezing

48 hours is no problem. With a lot of practice and large sequence breaks like BA and RBA 24 hours would not be impossible...

I mean it would be possible. My bad.

I mean if you memorize how to play the games it
could be done

It might have been possible but somewhere in the blog I read out that they weren't really familiar with the games. This fact alone doomed their project.

If for some reason some one is reading this I found some thing crucial to the Zelda time line THEORY remember it could mean nothing. But by the same token it could be good.In the Ocarina of Time when you beat the forest temple and meeting the deku sprout he says(and don't quote me) links mother is escaping the great war before the king unified the land.In the beginning of the minish cap it told of an extremely similar story probably meaning if there is a time line ocarina would take place 10-17 years after the hero of men ultimately meaning ocarina comes first.please if some one reads this and has a comment tell/ask me.

if they were really good at each game they could definitely do it. Ive beaten Ocarina in 4 hours and thats my record havent beaten the other ones though.
this event is kind of like what me and my friend are doing... we are both playing Ocarina at the same time and racing for every item (skulltulas, heart pieces, dungeon maps/compasses, and quiver/bomb bag upgrades too) and then to beat the game.

To my knowledge, the fastest reccord for OoT is a little over five hours. (it's the story that slows you down really)

Although I realize they didn't "win", it is doable. It actually depends largely on how you handle your WW sailing. And if they are all pros, 4 TVs, and 4 games would get it done in a snap...

johngon said:

if i was part of that team and i remebered MM better i could beat the game with full items just under 16 hrs
