A New Year's PH Review

After nearly three months, I’ve finally finished Phantom Hourglass. So please appreciate this fact and read a review I’ve written. Please be aware that this is not a spoiler-free review. I thoroughly discuss the game’s ending.

Yes, it took me a while, but for good reason - and now that I've finished, I have a few things to say. Pipking, a while back, wrote an incredibly positive review about Phantom Hourglass, making claims that it was the "best Zelda game ever." This could be considered a counter-review, from the other side of the table.

Seriously, I think you were a little harsh in the review. The ending made perfect sense to me, And I loved how cinimatic it was. And there were tons of events to break up the monotony of the dungeons. There were islands with minigames on them that you could play, lots of ships sailing to collect money, or items. There was that whole secret way to sail through the rocks thing on that island that later had a range minigame.

I thought the game was brilliant.

ha there's no way that's the last Windwaker based game...it's only a small substory sequal...to think that the Windwaker saga would end with a revamped Link's Awakening...what i think, there will be another Windwaker based game to answer the question of draining the great sea as well as others. Just think about it, the four swords saga ended with a prequal to answer a great many questions. it would not make sense to create a sequal to Windwaker that really doesn't contribute to the overall plot of zelda itself.

both reviews were too nice. I have enjoyed all other zelda games I have played up to this point, including Windwaker, but Phantom Hourglass was a horrible game. It was too easy and too short, but at the same time too hard and subsequentially due to its awfulness, too long also. Zelda games are getting increasingly easier and easier. I didn't die once while playing phantom hourglass. It is a horrible game and nintendo needs to start making better zelda games or I and many others will no longer play them. I like Zelda, I love Zelda, but I hate Phantom Hourglass and I don't understand how any of you squeezed any enjoyment out of this horrible game.

haha yes I hated that damn temple of ocean king also. Except the very last time you go through isn't as nearly as bad.

The game overall was a gem. It was a specatucular zelda game....probably the best out of all the handhelds.

Ah i just Beat PH 3 days ago, and i agree the gameplay is great the Weapons are fun to use, etc... its interesting that you can play the Whole game using the touch screen alone. By the way you forgot to mention the FISHING!!! its so funn!

Although the Ocean king temple was tiresome, and the idea or background behind bellum wasn't really explained properly, the whole game was fun and enjoyable to play with incredibly unique puzzles...and c'mon the ending wasn't that bad...it was actually quite good. As for the hourglass at the end...id say the ocean king probably left that for link as something to remember for the adventure he had
