Magic Rings that you collect throughout the game can be very useful,
though there are some useless ones, and of course, ones that are just
for having fun with. Before you can start collecting Magic Rings you
need to talk to Vasu the Jeweller in Horon Village; he will give you a
Ring Box in which you can carry one ring. Later on, you can find
upgraded boxes that will let you carry three and five rings. When you first find a ring, it is useless until you go back to Vasu and get it appraised. Once you have done this, the ring will be in your ring list. From there you can put it into your Ring Box. Once you have done this, you can choose to wear the ring if you like. Note: The rings that are listed as "Random" in the "How to Acquire" field can be found by using one of these three methods:

2: Some rings can only be obtained in Oracle of Seasons, and some can
only be obtained in Oracle of Ages; these rings are on both lists, for
the sake of convenience.  How to Acquire: You get it when you first meet Vasu the Jeweller. Description: A symbol of a meeting. Effect: This ring has no effect, and it is a mere symbol of your first meeting with Vasu. Power Ring Lv-1  How to Acquire: Random Description: Sword Damage ^ Damage Taken ^ Effect: With this ring your sword attacks will cause more damage, but you will also become more vulnerable to enemy attacks. Power Ring Lv-2  How to Acquire: Random Description: Sword Damage ^^ Damage Taken ^^ Effect: Same as the Power Ring Lv-1, but the effect is doubled. Power Ring Lv-3  How to Acquire: You get it in Hero's Cave in the linked game. Description: Sword Damage ^^^ Damage Taken ^^^ Effect: Same as the Power Ring Lv-1, but the effect is tripled. Armor Ring Lv-1  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Damage Taken v Sword Damage v Effect: This is the opposite of the Power Ring: Link will take less damage, but he will also deal less damage to enemies. Armor Ring Lv-2  How to Acquire: It is located in the second floor of Goron Village in Goron Mountain. Use the Roc's Cape to fly over the lava, then blow open the cracked wall with Bombs to gain access to a new room where you will find the Ring. Description: Damage Taken vv Sword Damage vv Effect: Same as the Armor Ring Lv-1, but the effect is doubled. Armor Ring Lv-3  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Damage Taken vvv Sword Damage vvv Effect: Same as the Armor Ring Lv-1, but the effect is tripled. Green Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Sword Damage ^ Damage Taken v Effect: Very effective ring that will make your sword attacks inflict more damage, and at the same time it makes you less vulnerable to enemy attacks. Blue Ring  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Damage Taken 1/2 Effect: You will take only half the damage you normally do. Red Ring  How to Acquire: From the Old Golden Wise Man when you have destroyed all four Golden Beasts. Description: Sword Damage x2 Effect: Your sword will do twice the damage it normally does. Cursed Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Sword Damage= 1/2 Damage Taken= x2 Effect: Only use this ring if you want to make your quest harder, as it will reduce the strength of your sword by half, and you will take twice as much damage. Expert's Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Punch when not equipped Effect: Will give you the ability to punch if you have no items equipped (same as Fist Ring). Blast Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Bomb Damage ^ Effect: This will increase the strength of your bombs by 25%. Rang Ring Lv-1  How to Acquire: Let yourself be swallowed by the whirlpool of sand in the south-western corner of Samasa Desert, then dive into the deep water and get to the other end of the grotto. Climb the stairs, open the chest and claim your ring! Description: Boomerang Damage ^ Effect: This will increase the power of your Boomerang. Rang Ring Lv-2  How to Acquire: Random Description: Boomerang damage ^^ Effect: This will make your Boomrang much stronger. GBA Time Ring  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Time Advanced! Effect: Unknown. GBA Nature Ring  How to Acquire: In the Advance Shop. Description: Life Advanced! Effect: Unknown. Maple's Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Maple Sightings ^ Effect: Another useful ring, this will make Maple appear more often (normally she appears for every 30 overworld enemy killed, now she will appear for every 15). Steadfast Ring  How to Acquire: In the Sword & Shield Dungeon. Description: Get knocked back less Effect: Improves Link's balance and he will be knocked back less when attacked. Pegasus Ring  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Lengthen Pegasus Seed Effect Effect: This will increase the duration of the effects of Pegsus Seeds, allowing you to run faster for a longer period of time. Toss Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Throwing Distance ^ Effect: When you throw an object, it will go farther. Heart Ring Lv-1  How to Acquire: Via the Temple Secret. Description: Slowly recover Hearts Effect: Your hearts will recover slowly over a period of time. A very useful ring, obviously. Heart Ring Lv-2  How to Acquire: Random Description: Recover lost hearts Effect: Gives the same effect as the Heart Ring Lv-1, but hearts regenerate at a faster rate. Swimmer's Ring  How to Acquire: Via the Swimmer's Secret Description: Swimming speed ^ Effect: Increases the speed at which you can swim. Charge Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Spin Attack Charges Quickly Effect: Your Spin Attack will charge more quickly. Light Ring Lv-1  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Sword Beams at -2 hearts Effect: Allows you to fire beams from your sword with two hearts missing in your life meter (normally, you may only fire sword beams with a full life meter). Light Ring Lv-2  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Sword Beams at -3 hearts Effect: Gives the same effect as the Light Ring Lv-1, only it allows you to fire sword beams with three hearts missing in your life meter. Bomber's Ring  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Set two bombs at once. Effect: When wearing this ring, you may set two Bombs at once (as opposed to just one Bomb at once). Green Luck Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: 1/2 damage from traps Effect: This ring reduces all damage taken from Traps by half. Blue Luck Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: 1/2 from beams Effect: This ring reduces all damage taken from beams by half. Red Luck Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Half damage from spiked floors Effect: This ring reduces all damaged from spiked floors by half. Gold Luck Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: 1/2 damage from falls Effect: This ring reduces all damage taken from falls by half. Green Holy Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: No damage from electricity Effect: If you wear this ring, you will take no damage at all from electricity attacks. Blue Holy Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: No damage from Zora's fire Effect: Attacks from Zoras will do absolutely no damage to you. Red Holy Ring  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: No damage from small rocks Effect: Small rocks (such as those shot by Octoroks) will not hurt you in any way. Snowshoe Ring  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: No sliding on ice Effect: This ring will allow you to walk on ice without slipping and sliding around. Roc's Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Cracked floors don't crumble Effect: Cracked floors that crumble underneath your weight will no longer crumble, allowing you to avoid falls more easily. Quicksand Ring  How to Acquire: Get to the east side of the lake close to Mrs. Ruul's Villa, and make sure the season is set to Autumn. Pick the mushrooms you find there, and then go through the cave to the right to find the chest in which the ring is resting. Description: No sinking in quicksand Effect: Quicksand won't bother you anymore if you wear this ring. Green Joy Ring  How to Acquire: It is hidden in a cave in Mt. Cucco. Description: Find double Ore Chunks Effect: Every Ore Chunk you collect will give you double its normal amount. Blue Joy Ring  How to Acquire: You will need to save Princess Zelda from the Great Moblin in the linked game to get a hold of this ring. Description: Beasts drop double hearts Effect: All hearts dropped by slain enemies will count as two hearts when picked up instead of one. Red Joy Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Beasts drop double Rupees Effect: Every Rupee that you collect from slain monsters will count as double. Gold Joy Ring  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Find double items Effect: A very useful ring. It will cause you to find twice as many hearts, Rupees, arrows, Bombs, etc. than you normally do. Discovery Ring  How to Acquire: It is in Level 1, Gnarled Root Dungeon. Description: Sense Soft earth nearby Effect: Whenever you come near a patch of soft earth that you can plant a Gasha Seed in, a sound will play to let you know. Octo Ring  How to Acquire: Use the Zora's Flippers to get it in the cave one screen below Mrs. Ruul's Villa. Description: Become an Octorok Effect: Link will turn into an Octorok when this ring is worn. Pretty useless, unless you've always wanted to play as an Octorok. Moblin Ring  How to Acquire: One screen right of the entrance to the Snake's Remains dungeon, change the season to Autumn, pick the mushrooms and enter the cave. Inside use the North Polarity on the Magnetic Pole to get over the gap and to chest containing the Ring. Description: Become a Moblin Effect: You will turn into a Moblin when using this ring. Again, not much use in this, but it can be fun to walk around as one of Link's classic enemies. Like-Like Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Become a Like-Like Effect: Another useless ring that will turn you into an enemy - this time the shield-eating Like-Like. Subrosian Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Become a Subrosian Effect: Using this ring will turn you into a Subrosian. Not that useful, like the other transformation rings. First Gen Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Become something Effect: One of the coolest rings in the game, this will change the sprites used for Link into the original sprites that were used in the first Legend of Zelda game on the NES. Spin Ring  How to Acquire: (only available in Oracle of Ages) Description: Double spin attack Effect: This ring will allow Link to do a double Spin Attack, which means that he will simply swing his sword around twice instead of once. Bombproof Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: No damage from your own bombs Effect: Useful for the slow and clumsy ones (you know who you are), this ring will make you invincible to your own Bombs. Energy Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Beam replaces spin attack Effect: Just like the description says, a beam will replace your Spin Attack. Double Edge Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Sword damage ^ but you get hurt Effect: Your sword will inflict more damage, but you will also take damage yourself when attacking with your sword. Slayer's Ring  How to Acquire: Kill 1,000 enemies and Vasu will give you this ring. Description: 1000 beast slain Effect: Nothing more than proof that you have killed more than 1000 enemies. Rupee Ring  How to Acquire: Collect more than 10,000 Rupees in total, and you will get this ring from Vasu. Description: 10, 000 Rupees collected Effect: Another ring that is nothing more than a trophy. Victory Ring  How to Acquire: Activate the "Hero's Secret", and this ring will be yours. Description: The Evil King Ganon Defeated Effect: Yet another trophy ring without any real powers. Sign Ring  How to Acquire: Destroy more than 100 signs and Vasu will reward you with this ring. Description: 100 signs broken Effect: You guessed it, it has no powers and acts only as a trophy for breaking 100 signs. 100th Ring  How to Acquire: Appraise more than 100 Rings and Vasu will hand you this one. Description: 100 Rings appraised Effect: The last of the trophy rings. Again no real effect. Whisp Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: No effect from jinxes Effect: Wear this ring to become immune to jinxes. Gasha Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Grow great Gasha Trees Effect: This ring will cause your Gasha Seeds to grow into Gasha Trees more quickly, and will also cause Gasha Nuts to contain better items. Peace Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: No explosions if holding bomb Effect: With this ring of peace, your Bombs will not explode as long as you are holding them. Zora Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Dive without breathing Effect: This allows you to stay underwater as long as you want. Fist Ring  How to Acquire: One screen to the left of where you got the Blue Ore, use the shovel to dig the dirt patch. Description: Punch when not equipped Effect: Lets you punch if you do not have any items equipped (same as Expert's Ring). Whimsical Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Sword Damage v Sometimes deadly Effect: This is a confusing ring to say the least. Sometimes your sword attacks will be less damaging than a rusty fork, and sometimes it will kill any enemy with one slash. Use it if you're feeling lucky. Protection Ring  How to Acquire: Random Description: Damage taken is always one heart Effect: Extremely useful when fighting hard enemies and bosses, as you will never take more than one heart of damage. |
