The current plot is that the Triforce is acting up and has trapped Link (along with the royal family and the leaders of all the major races of Hyrule) inside Hyrule Castle. How will Link deal with this potentially disastrous situation? You decide.

The Giveaway

As stated, Zelda Universe is giving away, in conjunction with STLOcarina, a bunch of Zelda ocarinas and sheet music. As with any contest, there are barriers to entry – but we’d like everyone to enter this one, so we’re going to make it easy this time around. Here’s how you can enter:

• Leave a comment on this post telling us what Zelda song you want to play with your ocarinas when you get them. While we’re not going to be picky about what you say in your comment, telling us a song would be nice!
• Make sure you’ve filled out the email field on your comment so that we can contact you.
• That’s it! We’ll select two random winners on November 7th, so you have a week to enter.

You may only leave one comment. If we find out that you’ve tried to enter multiple times, you will be disqualified. STLOcarina hasn’t mentioned any restrictions to us, so this contest is open to anybody around the world.

First Prize

Our glorious first prize winner will receive the whole shebang: The Ocarina of Time replica, the two Rupee ocarinas, and two Zelda songbooks to get him or her started on the path to musical glory.

Second Prize

It’s rare that companies show up at our doorstep and are nice enough to sponsor a contest like this, and we’d really like to hold more of these more often. We think they’re a lot of fun, and that they generate a lot of excitement. If you think so, too, consider making a deposit into the Bank of Hyrule. By doing so, you help ZU raise funds to hold contests with in the future. We pledge that the money going into the Bank of Hyrule won’t ever go to anything except holding contests.

(Note to self… next greatest invention: The candy corn triforce.)

For those who missed out on the all-day stream of announcements, ZU has (finally) made the move to a more powerful server that should be able to handle all the traffic we’ve been getting recently, as well as traffic for the Wiki. The server is roughly five times faster than the old one, so if we manage to bust this one up then there isn’t much hope left! This is pretty much top of the line as far as mid-level servers go. In fact, the one we’re on now is brand new – it just came in a few week ago. This new server was practically a gift from the generous people at our hosting company, so kudos to them for throwing us a bone and letting us step up to the server we’ve always known we needed.

Here’s the magic, though: We’re getting this server for free until October 1st. That means we’ve got until October 1st to decide whether or not it’s working. Although I have no doubts that this new server will never, ever crap out – well, those are famous last words. So, between now and October 1st, I’m calling upon a giant bug-fetching fest. If you find anything wrong – anything at all – on ZU or Zelda Wiki.org between now and October 1st, report it in the Feedback, Suggestions and Questions forum on ZU.
