EVERYTHING You Need to Know About Skyward Sword

Welcome to another edition of the ZUCast. Yet again, we’ve put together a lineup of news, opinions, drama and even something new for our dedicated, as well as new, listeners. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to create this month’s ‘cast, so without further delay, here’s the lineup:

(00:02:04 – 00:11:27) Nathanial Rumphol-Janc gives us the latest scoop with Zelda news.
(00:13:17 – 00:23:23) Hombre De Mundo, with special guest Humulos, speak about the placement of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on the LoZ timeline.
(00:26:16 – 00:32:39) Margar covers the latest events around the ZU forum with Community News.
(00:39:23 – 00:51:16) Liah hosts the first ever “A Quiz Show That May or May Not be Related to the Legend of Zelda,” featuring special guests Gorman, Happy Mask Salesman and Salvatore (Mature Audiences 15+).
(00:51:17 – 01:04:11) Mattocks and Liah reply to your feedback.
(01:06:62 – 01:10:34) Credits.
(01:10:36 – 01:11:52) Bloopers.

Feel free to leave us feedback at zubc@zeldauniverse.net.

That’s all for now. See you guys next month.

Welcome to another episode of the ZUcast! The ZUBC is back yet again to bring you more news, interviews, and an all around fun time. Check out what we have for you:

Guess what? It’s time for another podcast. That’s right, ZUBC is back to finish off the month of June with a ‘cast especially made for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. We’ve got the latest news, listener interaction, special interviews and a whole lot more lined up for you:

(3m 59s) Nathanial Rumphol-Janc returns with the latest news in the realm of Zelda.
(13m 46s) ZU forumite DekuQueen was lucky enough to attend E3 and with that experience, got to be one of the first to try Skyward Sword and the 3DS. Cody and Liah talk to her about her Nintendo experience.
(28m 25s) Rosco Rhodes highlights the latest events around the ZU community.
(35m 03s) Liah and Cody then sit down with Hombre de Mundo to discuss your predictions with Skyward Sword. We see who hit the nail on the head, who was way off and what’s still left to speculation regarding the upcoming Legend of Zelda.
(50m 19s) Special guests ChrisCrossMedia take the floor with their opinions on the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
(56m 35s) Cody and Liah tackle feedback in their ridiculously dysfunctional way. (PG)
(1h 11m 01s) We like hearing our names announced because it makes us feel special (ie credits).
(1h 12m 45s) The funniest part of the podcast by far (ie bloopers). (PG)

Contact us at zubc[at]zeldauniverse[dot]net to tell us what you think of this month’s ‘cast. We appreciate all feedback (for the most part).

You’ll hear from us again soon, but until then, enjoy!

Hey, nice to see you again so soon! Come on, you know you missed us. We missed you too. But we did it – we worked away these last 2 weeks to bring you another ZUCast. And hopefully, from now on, you’ll continue to get a shiny new (and hopefully shorter and easier-to-digest) podcast about every 2 weeks!

Note: Contrary to what previous statements may have insinuated, each podcast from here on is a separate, stand-alone program. Likewise, this particular episode is not an extension of the previous.

Oh, look, it’s that time again; another podcast put together for your listening pleasure. However, this is only the first part of this month’s podcast. We’ve split our monthly ‘cast in two to create less stress on our listeners’ attention spans, as well as giving you a double-whammy treat in the same month. This podcast has a crazy lineup of muppets, debates, violence, (almost) love and a lot more:

It’s that time again; another podcast launch for your listening pleasure! ZUBC is back with another Zelda/community-orientated lineup, with a few surprises in-between. From informative interviews to community interaction, this month’s podcast features several new segments and ideas, as well as the regular ZUBC voices you’ve come to love (…or hate).

Helloooo fine denizens of Zelda Universe! It’s been a whole month already and we’ve been hard at work on another podcast for you. In this edition of the ZUcast, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll groan, you’ll feel slightly embarrassed and uncomfortable, then you’ll cry again and then, ultimately, you’ll laugh once more. Hopefully you’ll come out on the other side slightly more informed and entertained than you were going in.

Note: From now on, let it be known that not all content in this and future podcasts will be suitable for all age groups. However, we’ll let you know in the table of contents where this will apply:

It hasn’t even been an entire month since our last podcast but, hell, we here at ZUBC just couldn’t contain ourselves. This month we’re celebrating our two-year anniversary for ZUBC, as well as spreading the love for Valentine’s Day. We’ve got the latest news, special guests, exciting interviews, new content and, as always, your favourite regular ZUBC voices.

Hey dudes, it’s 2010! Unfortunately, there seems to be something missing from this brand new decade, like there’s a gap in the scene that no one seems able to fill. Until today, that is!

That’s right, we at the ZUBC sure know how to fill it – with a new podcast, of course! So what’s in this month’s edition? Hit the jump to find out!

Ho, ho, ho, Zelda Universe! It’s that time of year again, when the snow starts falling and we obligingly begin behaving for Santa. Yes, it’s Christmas time, and the ZUBC have written and produced a very special ChristmasCast for your viewing pleasure.

How special is it? Well, if Rudolf were to hear it, he would surely vomit with jealousy for this PodCast is a parody of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Written and performed by the greatest and sexiest voices ZU has to offer, we invite you to settle in for some community news, storytelling, and good, old-fashioned fun.

Climb aboard the Ganontrain as we of ZUBC bring you “A Very Power Shot Christmas,” starring everyone’s favorite Ego Ranger (and the reason your girlfriend left you alone this holiday season) Power Shot, along with the vocal talents of Aniday, Liah, Cody, Hombre, Roscoe, Margar, EzloSpirit, and Dom. Even our webmaster Jason awakens from his holiday slumber to pitch in. Join us on an epic quest to produce content for you, our listeners.

“Knock knock…”

“Who’s there?”

“New podcast!”

Recently I interviewed Sandeep Parikh, director of The Legend of Neil (and also Zaboo from The Guild), and Tony Janning, who plays Neil, the titular character. For those of you unaware, The Legend of Neil is a web series about a regular guy from the real world who gets sucked into the game of Zelda.

If you are easily offended, the series may not be for you as it does contain a fair amount of vulgar language, but otherwise, you should check it out starting from the first episode here, and then listen to the interview, which both explains the reasons behind the creation of the series and provides hints as to its future.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen! You may not know who I am; my posts are so infrequent that you probably don’t remember my last one. However, if you do remember, then there is undoubtedly a huge grin on the middle of your beautiful face – as it means that there is a new podcast, and boy you’re in for a good one! You just know you want to read more to find out what wonderful gems the ZUBC have spat out of it’s wonderful, gift giving vending machines!

Hey there, it’s Dom again! I am proud to announce the latest edition of the ZU Podcast, and boy you’re in for a good one! Click below to find out what’s in the latest episode, or use the player below to listen directly. Don’t forget to subscribe via iTunes if you’re enjoying ZUCast.

Hi there, I’m Dom. I’m a new recruit to the staff and it is my job to keep the ZUBC sections of ZU in check as well as post the podcast news article to the main site. At long last, due to an overwhelming amount of feedback we’ve received for the previous ‘casts, the ZUBC team has put together our very first Zelda-focused podcast! So, may I present to you the May 2009 ZUCast! You can stream ZUCast directly below, or do any of the following:

Were back!

Heyyy yah there, one and all, Anime_Queen/Asia, your ZUCast producer here ^_____^

We apologize for disappearing off the face of the internets, but yes, you heard right, we’re back and relaunching with a Community Christmas Cast special! Gogo! Click “Read the rest”to have a wee glimpse at the contents for the cast and a bit more info, or start streaming the podcast right away from the bottom of this post. If you’re subscribed via iTunes, you should already be getting it.

It’s been a long time (wow, nearly too long) since we first asked you guys to send us questions for ZU’s brilliant designer, Anton Wiklund (http://www.antonw.com/). At long last, the interview has taken place and is now available for listening! Which is why I’ve come to post it up. Find out all the secrets of the design process that went into ZU’s beautiful design and layout – how it started, what went through Anton’s head, and more. Hombre de Mundo, our one and only Man of World, acts as the stand-in interviewer because the normal ZUCast hosts suck at appearing for important things.

Subscribe via iTunes to get all ZUCast updates in the future, or stream it using the player below. Happy listening!

Election Day is drawing closer. To help you decide which candidate you’d like you be your newest webmaster (next to me, of course), debates have taken place between candidates Cody and Power Shot on key issues such as economics, swallows laden with coconuts, skub, and cheesecake. We’re releasing this special debate over the air, through ZUCast, so those of you subscribed via iTunes should get it immediately, and the rest of you can stream the debates right from here.

Make sure to stop by ZU on November 4th and vote for the candidate you want to win! Whoever wins will be ZU’s next co-webby alongside me, so treat your vote with care. There will be a poll only on the forums, so please make sure you register to vote if you’re interested in voting.

I was fortunate enough to chat with Cameron today while one of his friends was busy playing The Wind Waker. I asked him about Team Four48, their mission, what inspired them and why they chose Zelda over other franchises. Sprinkle in a bit of metaphorical jabber, and you’ve got my spicy half-hour long interview with Team Four48′s Cameron Banga.

This is the uncut interview. It’ll download in iTunes for those subscribed to the podcast. While I can’t yet guarantee it, as I’m waiting for confirmation from our podcast editor Margar, I’m hoping that she’ll be willing to cut up a ten minute version for the upcoming installment of the ZUCast.

Team Four48 is currently on track to finish the remaining two Zelda games by their 6pm EST deadline, and it looks as though they’re going to break their $2000 donation goal as well. Make sure to watch them as they do – we’ve got a live feed going as well as video feeds and a donation widget to help them out.

A big, hearty congratulations to the Podcast team – the revamp has caused Apple to re-review ZUCast, and this time we were approved in a single day! ZUCast is now officially in the iTunes Podcast Directory. The link on the right sidebar for “Subscribe via iTunes” has been updated and will take you to ZU’s iTunes Store location.

Alternatively, you can click here and go there right now. Don’t forget to subscribe – and look forward to the next cast, where ZUCast splits into two sections: ZCast, the Zelda podcast, and CCast, the ZU community podcast.

ZU has an incredible designer. His name is Anton Wiklund, and he created most everything you see here today. A bunch of smaller images on the site were derived from his work. But we feel that you didn’t really get to know him at all – you know me and Scott, but for one reason or another this beautiful temple seems like it came out of nowhere.

But Anton deserves more than your absolute devoted attention. Which is why ZUBC and ZU want you to send in your questions, so that our podcast team can interview him video and audio style. If you’ve ever been curious about the new layout in the last two days – its development, progress, why we chose what we did and how Anton Wiklund worked with our comments and directions – now is the time to send it in. And thank him for this beautiful layout, because it wasn’t myself or Scott that made it – it was Anton. A round of applause for him!

You can send in your questions anytime in the next week or so. After that, the podcast staff and I want to begin speaking with Anton and assembling the awesome video interview ;)

Hit the jump for a contact form. Simply fill it and hit send. We’ll take the best questions we get and use them to fuel the interview.

Yes indeed, welcome, everyone, to the brand spankin’ new Zelda Universe! It has been months in the making, with many long hours of me staring angrily at a collection of scripts, blocks of PHP, HTML, CSS, and all the other things that go into making a website these days.

I hope everyone can agree that it is all well worth the effort and the wait. There’s many things to see all around – including a media player at the bottom of this post (read for more info on a new podcast we’re releasing today!) – and there will be more to see as the rest of the week unfolds with new features and articles rolling out continuously. Click on the nice little link below to see details of what we have to show you today – and beyond!

UPDATE: We got dugg! Digg us and spread the word about the new ZU around the internets!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAlright, guys! I’m sure that a lot of you who hang around the forum are familiar with the “Guess the ZU’er” game I used to run through the past years, officially and unofficially. Well, this is kinda similar.

The third iteration of ZUCast introduces the podcast’s new name and logo! In a roughly hour and a half podcast, we’re giving you thiiiiis much (hit the jump for info):

Hey now! No need to be cranky! and we’re still getting used to this – sure, we might be a couple of months late, but HECk have we got a show for you!

We listened to all sorts of comments all of you have been gracious enough to give last time in response to the first cast; and we hope you thoroughly enjoy what we have for you now! The ZUBC is proud to present, to you, the 2nd ZU Community Podcast!
