Retrospective Remembrance: The Ocarina of Time

In Closing

There are many things that I could use right now to describe the impact that Ocarina of Time has had on video games. There are reviews I could quote, sales figures I could report, or people who all say that it is a great game. Is it the greatest game though? Some might disagree with that. After all, could it not be said that The Wind Waker is the best Zelda game? Or maybe A Link to the Past? Or maybe another game, or another series. But, and I stress this as much as I can, the gaming industry has been influenced by this game. People have been, and will continue to be, inspired by this title. Gamers have been, and will continue to be, entertained by this title.

I look outside, and I see that the sun has risen, meaning I will not get the sleep I so richly deserve after writing all of this. But I regret not a moment, for I have had the pleasure and the privilege of rekindling a truly wonderful moment from my childhood when I first faced and defeated Queen Gohma in the dark trunk of the Great Deku Tree. I remember the childish pride of my accomplishment, and my thrill for adventure through the continuing adventures of Link.

Happy Birthday, Ocarina of Time. Now it’s time for your spankings.

The hallucinations have begun, as reality and video games begin to merge into one. It’s time for some well deserved sleep. Good night.
