Tri Force Heroes awarded “Best Handheld / Mobile Game” at Game Critics Awards

Tri Force Heroes has certainly been the talk of the town since its surprise unveiling at this year’s E3. But don’t just take our word for it — it’s our job to talk about Zelda anyway, right? — the game has left many other gaming publications impressed.

The Game Critics Awards is an independent group consisting of various media outlets dedicated to covering the video game industry. Recently, they held the “Best of E3” awards, which recognises the most appealing games shown at the event.

Tri Force Heroes triumphantly took away the “Best Handheld/Mobile Game” award, prevailing over the likes of Fallout ShelterMario & Luigi: Paper Jam and Persona 4: Dancing All Night.

While many of the awards were dominated by Fallout 4 and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Nintendo did manage to sweep another award. Super Mario Maker received “Best Family/Social Game”, a mighty achievement indeed when you consider the mammoth franchises it went up against: Disney Infinity 3.0, Guitar Hero Live, Lego Dimensions and Rock Band 4.

Here’s the full list of winners, and the full list of nominees.
